22.01.2022 WELL WELL WELL What do we have here, we have just landed our 2nd batch of the Famous "Spangled Perch" Jackall Squirrel . This EXCLUSIVE lure is one... of the "Most Wanted" lures for the Dams, it has been one of the most consistent Barra catchers we have seen in a long time. They are in very limited numbers and only available at Tackle World Bundaberg and Fisho's Tackle World Hervey Bay See more

20.01.2022 TACKLE WORLD BUNDABERG LAKE MONDURAN FISHING REPORT Lake Monduran has still been producing some very nice sized barra. Fishing the afternoons has definitely been the go with the water temperature being higher. Working Jackall Squirrels on the shallow points and in the shallow bays has been the places to be. Remember to fish with confidence, you never know when that 1m+ barra will smash you! Thank you to Rusty's Lake Monduran Barra Charters for the pics.

19.01.2022 Keen to catch and release this barra season? Here are some tips to give your barra the best chance at survival: Always support the body horizontally and get i...t back in the water as soon as possible (the less time the fish spends out of the water the better are its chances of survival). Hold the fish horizontally (holding a fish vertically or by the jaws can cause a lot of damage and decrease its ability to survive when released). Do not place the fish on a hot, hard surfaces (this can cause trauma to the fish). Barra have a possession limit of 5 per person with a maximum of 10 per boat when more than 2 people are on board. They have a minimum size limit of 58 cm and a maximum size limit of 120 cm, but you can take 1 barramundi over 120 cm at some dams. http://bit.ly/3p98FjU

17.01.2022 Tackle World Bundaberg Fishing Report 04th February 2021 LAKE MONDURAN Lake Monduran is producing some total beasts of barra. The biggest one that I’ve heard caught over the past week has been 122cm. The barra definitely are sitting in the deeper water. One of the standout techniques is definitely trolling for them at the moment. Also, slow rolling paddle tail soft plastics on the bottom has been a deadly technique as well. The trusty Jackall Squirrels are still catching... plenty of fish on the edges earlier in the mornings, before the water heats up though. Some of the fish below went 121, 115, 105 and 101. See more

16.01.2022 Tackle World Bundaberg Fishing Report LAKE MONDURAN The fishing at Lake Monduran is definitely super exciting at the moment. There has been some trophy sized barramundi being caught up to 115cm. Slow-rolling larger sized paddle tail soft plastics over wind-blown points has been getting plenty of attention from the bigger fish. The Jackall Squirrels and Samaki Redics sure have been catching their fair share of barra, especially in the timbers. Remember to fish with confide...nce - you never know when that 1m+ barra will smash your lure! Thank you to everyone who completed their survey. QR Code is at the top of the page.

16.01.2022 Gotta get me one of these

14.01.2022 MASA Bass release this morning. Huge thank you to Jarrod, Darryl and Justin for your time and assistance with the release. They were all first time helpers and enjoyed the experience. Thank you to everyone for supporting us through comps, raffles, can and bottle money, donations and SIP permits. Without the support from the public who fish this fantastic waterway we would not be able to do the work we do. 19,000 baby bass now call Lake Monduran home.... Thanks all.

11.01.2022 TACKLE WORLD BUNDABERG LAKE MONDURAN FISHING REPORT The monster barra bite has slowed down a little now they aren’t all congregating in the Main Basin, but with the full moon earlier this week they should be getting hungry and the Molix shad will have them hitting the deck in no time. I can confirm there has been lots of 70 models being landed on the trusty Jackall Squirrel. Every failed cast is one cast closer to the perfect cast... That’s all folks. Stay safe on the water and be mindful of your fellow fishers. Photo: Kevin Charteris with a beaut barra he caught at Lake Monduran

08.01.2022 As a stocking association we receive a lot of support from businesses and general public. One of our own MASA members has gone above and beyond recently and we’d like to give Jason from Laser Cut Designs a huge thanks for what you’ve done for the assn. Jason supports us with signs, stickers and brag mats and much more. Your contribution is much appreciated.

08.01.2022 TACKLE WORLD BUNDABERG LAKE MONDURAN FISHING REPORT The cooler weather has showed up over the past week. The fish have been caught in the shallow water due to the water temperature dropping to around 20/22 degrees. The wind-blown points, flats and timber lines have been producing the numbers. Anglers have been using the Jackall Squirrels and 4/5 inch paddle tails. Bird Bay has had some good numbers, fishing along the weed edges and timber lines. With the water level at 42 percent, the islands are now showing weed beds. Using paddle tails cast out with a slow wind, rolled over the weed edges and down the face of the weed lines, will produce the bites.

08.01.2022 LAKE MONDURAN FISHING REPORT Over this past week Lake Monduran has produced some cracking barra. One of our local Bundaberg anglers managed to land a 115cm barramundi last weekend on a Jackall Squirrel. This was a magic fish and goes to show just what a world-class fishery we have here right on our doorstep. Look for timbered areas close to deeper water. Catching them from in amongst the timber is extremely challenging but it’s all part of the fun! With northerlies blowing m...any bigger fish will be in the basin end of the dam. Could also be an idea to upgrade your hooks to hold some of these monsters. Till next week.

08.12.2021 We put some Bass fingerlings in this morning. Thanks to Matt from Greenscres Aquaculture and one of our MASA sponsors Barrier Reef Corals. Brendan and Dave bought their sons along to give the boys a look at how the restocking is done. Fair to say by the look on his face he’ll be back for another go. 28.11.2021 TACKLE WORLD BUNDABERG LAKE MONDURAN FISHING REPORT Monduran is a lake that can change from week to week, from a change in wind direction, water level and water temperature. From a combination of both rain and a south-easterly wind can drop water temperatures, making fishing tough. As water levels have risen over the previous month, weed that’s in the shallow starts to rot and takes the oxygen out of the water in that area. Areas that fished well previous to rain may not be a...s productive in the coming weeks. Starting over and finding new ground where fish can be holding can be crucial to catch rates in the future. Follow the wind and find that water temperature that’s a degree or two above anywhere else. Fishing off points or backs of bays may give you the edge. CATCH OF THE WEEK! Terry Morton with a Lake Monduran barramundi

12.11.2021 Happy New Year!

30.10.2021 TACKLE WORLD BUNDABERG LAKE MONDURAN FISHING REPORT Lake Monduran has continued to fish very well over the past week with quite a few barra around the magic metre mark being caught. Once again, most of the action has been in the Main Basin, Bird Bay and up Bass Strait. Trollers have been doing extremely well, using soft plastics and hard body lures that dive to around 3 metres. Exciting news is that MASA released 65,000 barra fingerlings into Lake Monduran Monday afternoon.... All the barra fingerlings looked very healthy and I’m sure they will be testing anglers’ skills in no time. Just finally from all the team at Tackle World Bundaberg we wish everyone a happy and safe Christmas and a fantastic New Year! Photo : Peter Ashmore with a barra he caught at Lake Monduran
