22.01.2022 So much good has come from the #EveryLittleCell movement! Global togetherness, a remembering of our musicality, fun and playfulness as well as the strengthening... of positive self belief. But for me, perhaps the most heart warming outcome, is that people are learning just how important music is for braincare! The Brain is a musical organ. Music is to the brain as breath is to the lungs. Music is THE best way we can help our children feel safe and ourselves to regulate right now. Diana Fisk has put together this brilliant little resource on WHY we should sing, HOW It supports our brain to function and just how POWERFUL the act of music really is for our body, brain and nervous systems. Thankyou Diana! And enjoy everyone! www.allisondavies.com.au Registered Music Therapist

19.01.2022 Curly thumb! I said to my student that his thumb was going to be famous. He smiled! :)

19.01.2022 Last week was time for the Suzuki Professional Development program for 2021. Most sessions were online but we were very fortunate to be able to gather the cello teachers at the Sydney Suzuki Institute to watch some of the sessions together. It was so good to make music and learn together again! Thanks to Takao Mizushima and the Sydney Suzuki Institute for organising this! Amazing live sessions with Pam Devenport and Andrea Yun

04.01.2022 The PERFECT song to be singing around your children over the next little bit. You’re welcome www.allisondavies.com.au... 04.01.2022 I have been wanting do to a cello for a long time, I have to admit that I completely underestimated the load of work. Even if the final result looks simple i...t is full of small details and precision to have the final piece looking like a real one. This is an accurate size of a 4/4 Full Cello (5ft tall). My favorite part is the wood grain texture What do you think? Subscribe to my Youtube channel (link below): https://www.youtube.com/c/AmauryGuichonChef

03.01.2022 Get practising!

01.01.2022 This question comes up a lot for parents of young music students! It’s absolutely normal for your young child to not initiate their own music practice. If the...y do that’s wonderful! If they don’t it’s likely more about transitions, being able to plan and schedule ourselves, and executive function skills than anything else. You can help by: Making music practice consistent and part of the routine. Visual reminders Setting a timer for an auditory reminder Planning and allowing for transition time Remembering it can be hard to get started with practice, even for the pros! My parents had to remind me all through high school to practice ... and I’m so glad they did it!
