24.01.2022 Making a healing broth today... foraged and dried wakame, ginger, chillies, garlic, onion and turmeric. I'll let it cook for a few hours and then add mushrooms (shitake if you have them), greens, tofu and noodles. Once cooked I'll stir in a big spoon of miso paste. . Just the kind of nourishing, mineral and nutrient dense, comfort food I'm needing this week. . #listentoyourbody #veggiebroth #healingfoods #whatnaturopathseat #whatnutritionistseat #foodasmedicine #organic #wholefoods #simplecooking #organicfood #broth

21.01.2022 What a weekend at the @bobbrownfoundation #takaynabioblitz2020 . These forests are so important to protect and it was incredible being out there and spending time learning about the diversity of mosses, birds, animals, insects, fungi and plants (including ancient eucalyptus and myrtle trunks over 9m in circumference) that call this place home. . We got to learn from and hang out with an awesome group of incredibly knowledgable folk. Thanks to everyone involved for making it ...such a special weekend! . The smell of sassafras and forest floor is still on my skin... I hope it stays with me as a reminder to keep advocating for these ancient forests. See more

19.01.2022 Last meal of the Fasting Mimicking Diet - have you heard of this way of fasting? It's a calorie restricted, plant-based, very specific diet that you follow for 5 days out of the month. It's a fast, where you still get to eat (although very restricted). . Throughout the week I've developed some tasty recipes that adhere to the strict calorie and macronutrient requirements (fat, carbs, protein). . This diet is developed based on the research of Dr Longo and is used for many hea...lth conditions including: + metabolic issues and weight loss + autoimmune and inflammatory conditions + complimentary cancer treatment, often used alongside chemo. . As well as this it is thought to improve long term health and longevity. . Using fasting such as this helps to reset your bodies metabolism and blood sugar management, as well as promote cell turnover - a whole body internal clean up/reset. . I've been experimenting with it to use alongside chemotherapy, where research shows it can improve the efficacy of the drugs as well as reduce side effects such as diarrhea, nausea and fatigue. . Its recommended to do 5 days 3 months in a row, and then depending on what you're using it for a maintenance regime of 3-4 times per year. It's been great, and I'll do another 5 days next month... but I am looking forward to a croissant for breakfast tomorrow... . Disclaimer I did it with my mum and she says "you make it sound harder than it is... it's not impossible". . . #fastingmimickingdiet #fmd #fasting #longevity #complimentarycancercare #naturaloncology #naturopath #naturopathicmedicine #naturopathiconcology #whatnaturopathseat #plantbased #gimmethatcroissant See more
