24.01.2022 Working with one of my amazing young students who has done an amazing job with her 3yr old Shetland. He came to Sharnie with a lot of attitude and had been ver...y spoilt and treated like a puppy so he thought he could push everyone around. Sharnie has taken on the horsemanship side of my training. This has given her a lot of confidence to be able to work with Buddy and be able to control his moments of thinking he is the boss and trying to push her around. From not even being able to lunge or get Buddy to move off of her they have now moved up to mouthing by starting out with flexion and softness to the bit to long reining. I am so proud of them both. I can’t wait to see them get out and about together. See more
20.01.2022 ARLEY I have so much love and respect for this little man. He takes everything in his stride and with so much pride. Today I was having a play with in hand work then tried some weight exception on his back. There was not one sign of tension or nervousness so slowly after letting him get used to the feel of my weight I then sat up on him. I didn’t want any movement or to ask of anything just to except me being there. He had no problem at all. I’m so proud of him. Lisa Smith thank you again for breeding such stunning and beautiful minded arabs.
14.01.2022 Come explore the wonderland of horsemanship and classical dressage combined. Combining the two disciplines together will help you create a soft, relaxed horse and rider combination. Establishing ground skills is the start of a confident horse to then be able to transfer under saddle. My aim is to help with issues arising with all demographic’s of horse and rider, from young horses starting out or oldies with arising problems in hand or under saddle, also new horse owners wan...ting to establish their skills with their horse. I will help you create a connection and build confidence to be able to further your discipline. As a coach I can guarantee that I Continue with my own training weekly in horsemanship as well as intensive classical dressage clinics every three months with two of the top trainers in both disciplines, I believe we are always learning and need to upkeep our knowledge as we understand more of the biomechanics of the horse and how to ask for a movement correctly and get the response we are looking for with the correct frame/shape so the horse will not be damaged. I want to inspire you to achieve what you desire with your horse to have a long and happy experience together. See more
09.01.2022 Here is Arley. My 3yr old pure bred Arab. I got Arley at 5montns old. He has only been handled by me from the beginning, I have worked with him in hand helping creat a soft, straight and strong body, I have no desire to start him under saddle until the end of next yr after he is 4 to give him a chance to mature and be completely confident within himself. (He has a lot of confidence don’t get me wrong ) he is one of the sweetest and smartest horses I’ve worked with, picking u...p his ground skills and manners very quickly, from the first touch we had he has trusted me through all his new experiences, from leaving his beautiful mother and walking onto the float for his first time with no problems to tying up and being able to stand and relax, I also like my horses to stand still whilst I hose them down and except the hose on their face which he now loves, we have worked on most of our ground skills now so we will move onto putting a bit on and mouthing. I will keep updates on our progress as it’s a very exciting time for him. See more
08.01.2022 Super excited my business cards arrived today. Keep an eye out for them.
02.01.2022 So I have a little free time so I thought I’d do up a story on my own horse and our journey. Izzy. My warmblood mare I got when she was a 4yr old now 12. My beautiful girl is such a willing pleasure to own, I have had her in and out of work over the years due to work and family, we have done many different clinics together fr showjumping to classical dressage and horsemanship. She takes it all in her stride. My daughter has had her at ag shows and pony club placing high in her classes. We are lucky to have such an amazing horse with us that I have complete trust in and know she is one I can always rely on. My training with her has given her the confidence that she can achieve it all and be comfortable doing it.
02.01.2022 So proud of another student. Telisha has worked so hard to get to where she is. From training young horses to now being lucky enough to work with a beautiful TB. They had their first gymkhana on the weekend. First day was dressage and hacking second sporting. It wasn’t the best day for it on Saturday as the rain fell all day. But needles to say Telisha Whiley and Zeppy took it in their stride. Placing 5th in their first dressage test together then blitzed in the hack ring placing first in almost all classes and reserve champion in rider. I can’t wait to watch these two grow together. Great job I couldn’t be prouder.
