25.01.2022 Rainy weekends are the perfect time to make a yummy soup. You can use all the vegetables you have left in the fridge, add some stock and blend. To thicken it up and make it creamy I always add some cauliflower rather than potatoes to keep the calories low. The ideal snack or meal when stuck at home! Obviously home cooked meals are best but sometimes we are time poor or just can’t be bothered to cook so it’s so important to be able to know what the best thing to order is without blowing the calorie bank... tonight’s ideas are for healthy Thai meals... I recommend ordering either: * Satay chicken sticks with satay sauce on the side so you can monitor how much you drizzle on with a side of stir fried vegetables in soy or... chilli basil sauce. * Beef, chicken or tofu stir fry in soy, oyster, ginger or chilli basil. Avoid the chilli jam sauces as they are very high in sugar. * BBQ beef or chicken with steamed vegetables. * steamed fish in soy and ginger If trying to manage your weight do not order rice or noodles but rather extra vegetables. A variety of salads ( I like to mix it up so I don't get bored.. by just changing the way you combine the ingredients creates an entirely different experience eg lettuce based Vs chopped etc)... The BBQ becomes my best friend... I change up the proteins and combine with either a salad, BBQ or oven baked vegetables and home made sweet potato chips.... I love having family and friends over as I get to do the 2 things that I love most ... cooking for people and spending quality time catching up and laughing #worklifebalance...
