25.01.2022 Here’s a snapshot of what we do here at Monk! We may not be open for sit down as yet but we are doing take away still! It’s also the @discipleroasters and @monkschai headquarters! 23.01.2022 Dear fellow human beings, We would like to thank you for your support throughout the restrictions. To say that it’s been challenging for everyone would be a gross understatement. As lockdowns are imposed, we are still operating on one cylinder but open for take away coffee, take away meals and take home @discipleroasters coffee and organic specialty @monkschai . On a business level, we really hope that we can get through the current situation. We guarantee that we won’t be ...closing for fear of trying. We also hope that we have people sitting down in the future however it is not the time now. We are open Monday to Friday 7am to 3.30 and Saturday and Sunday 8am to 3.30. You can also order takeaway food by phone on 0431 303 381 Business aside, now is the time to look at the big picture and help ourselves help others as part of a greater universal consciousness rather than the village compound of our fear and limitation. Let’s see ourselves in every human being. Remember that we are all at worst very distant cousins from way back and we all share the common goal of trying to get by. As such please reach out to loved ones and share your support and love for them. We are closed on Christmas Day but in accordance with tradition, our sister cafes @admiralchengho and @bayanotherebel are open on Christmas Day for coffee with all proceeds going to @berrystreetorg We previously supported this great cause in 2014. Cash donations only We are open from 7am to 11am. Pay what you feel. It's a great cause first of all with a small bonus of you getting a coffee on Xmas! Love to all!... Served along with our house made raw granola (takes days to make and dehydrate). Topped off with a coconut probiotic, fresh seasonal fruit and cacao nibs! 18.01.2022 The new state government announcements are for most of us surreal. We are not here to play politics but to acknowledge the unwell and wish that every day brings them closer to a full and speedy recovery. There are also close to 6 million physically healthy victorians that are in lockdown. To a lot of people, this next phase will mean an end to a job, house, relationship etc. This will add up the existing 3 million people in Australia who live with anxiety and depression. So w...hat we are doing tomorrow along with @admiralchengho @bayanotherebel @discipleroasters and @monkschai is for the community. We will be donating our days takings (excluding retail bags) on Wednesday August 5 to @beyondblueofficial Let us all dwell in possibility and see that there is light despite the seeming darkness. We believe the Lotus from @ninetypluscoffee via our roastery @discipleroasters is one of those coffees. Lotus coffee is named for the sacred lotus which is capable of generating heat and regulating the temperature of its beautiful blossoms. We think that this coffee is what the world needs right now! Due to our very small size we are staying in takeaway only format until we reach "covid normal" and density limits and restrictions are lifted. We have operated as a classic Melbourne cafe for almost eleven years: small, intimate and cosy. We look forward to doing this hopefully sooner rather than later!
