23.01.2022 Reason #177 why you should get an arborist to undertake your tree works. You’ve cut the tree down.. now what? We get so many calls by people in a panic as they didn’t expect so much debris until Mount Everest is in front of them

21.01.2022 We’ve jumped on the Husqvarna battery powered saw bandwagon and we are loving it so far. It’s super powerful and far quieter than a 2 stroke. We look forward to putting this beast through its paces and seeing what results it can deliver! Productivity + Sustainability = Winning!

21.01.2022 Another close call, our clients house was spared as the fire roared up the natural water course, burning trees in close proximity to her home. Subterranean fires burnt for a long time afterwards, with some falling weeks later with major cavities in their root systems.

21.01.2022 AUTUMN is for planting & planning! When undertaking works in your yard / garden you must always consider the season. Autumn is the ideal time of year to plant particularly trees, shrubs and perennials because air temperatures have cooled, soil is still warm and you’ve hopefully had some rainfall to increase soil moisture.... Deciduous trees (trees that lose their leaves) require a light prune every autumn and it is also a good time to undertake dead-wooding of evergreen species at the end of the warmer weather. Autumn is also the perfect time to PLAN your veggie patch. Turn the soil, mulch, fertilise, attract worms and prepare what you intend to plant.

20.01.2022 Some photos of this afternoons make safe. Be sure to familiarise yourself with your insurance policies. Some infrastructure that are commonly confused regarding insurance are:... - Internal fences - Animal enclosures - Clothes lines

10.01.2022 KEEP YOUR MULCH! Soil erosion can a become major issue following bushfires due to burned leaf litter which previously worked as roughage, increasing infiltration and reducing soil runoff. Once leaf matter is burnt and replaced with ash, the soil becomes prone to erosion. This poses as a major risk to stability of the land and causing pollution of waterways. We recommend when removing burnt trees after a fire event, if possible the stump / root system should be retained to re...duce erosion. Mulch from the trees removed can be spread on the land (especially sloped land) to greatly reduce the impact of soil erosion and reinstate nutrients into the soil as well as retaining moisture below the surface and assisting with revegetation. For more information regarding soil erosion following fires view this publication released by the NSW Government https://www.environment.nsw.gov.au//fire-and-soils-170691.

10.01.2022 Clearing hazardous black wattles along clients driveway following the recent fires. It’s amazing how green everything is already!

10.01.2022 Say hello to our little mate, Paul. He’s our adopt a koala. Paul was the first live koala to be found at the Crestwood/Lake Innes Nature Reserve fireground. He was found curled up on the burnt ground by a member of the public who brought him to the Koala Hospital. Our little buddy was severely dehydrated and had suffered burns to his hands and feet. His fur is singed over 90% of his body.... With the help of Koala Hospital Port Macquarie we hope to see him rehabilitated and released. What a lovely concept, we are stoked to jump on board. #SaveOurKoalas

07.01.2022 One of today’s jobs was a large poinciana which suffered ‘bark inclusion’. This is a condition where bark forms in a narrow junction, effectively disconnecting the adjacent limb over time. These limbs eventually fail due to severe stress on the internal wood structure of the tree.

07.01.2022 Capable machinery = maximum productivity. This is one of the reasons we get some much done in a day

01.01.2022 Following the recent bushfire tragedy, koalas have now been listed as a vulnerable species and urgently need our help to replenish their numbers. They’re picky about what type of eucalyptus species they eat, so we have posted a list of both botanical & common names for anyone who has the ability to plant trees on their property for koalas. Although you may hardly see them, wild koalas do reside here on the Sunshine Coast.
