24.01.2022 Check out the first speaker of our Beyond SNAPS Alumni Event HIT GOING: https://www.facebook.com/events/757890161700147 "My passion is working with young people, and advocating for better quality services within mental health and education. I studied a Bachelor of Psychology (with Honours) at Monash University, before I became an Assistant Lecturer and Assistant Course Convenor for the Bachelor of Psychology in 2016. In 2019, I began working as a Community Engagement Worker at headspace, and in 2020 I took on a role as a Collaborator with the Weenthunga Health Network, where I focus on health equity for First Nations people in Victoria, specifically within higher education. In my spare time, I am a live-in mentor for disadvantaged youth."
22.01.2022 Over the last week, MSA and SNAPS have engaged in important advocacy on behalf of psychology students to ensure student assessments and exams are marked fairly.... We are delighted to share that the School of Psychology has made the following guarantees: - Students will be marked fairly based on core criteria - not on a bell curve; - Grades will not be subject to marking caps; - Markers will not have a limited number of HD’s or D’s they may award; - Students and staff will receive clearer communication regarding marking. We extend our thanks to SSnaps - Students' Neuroscience And Psychology Societyand the School of Psychology for working together to achieve this outcome. If you have any other concerns or feedback, please send us a message or email MSA Student Advocacy and Support at [email protected]

His doctoral research project with Monash University’s Neural Systems and Behaviour Lab involves using normative models and brain ageing techniques to measure changes in cortical gradients of brain network organisation. During his undergraduate studies, he spent three years as the Vice-President and Treasurer of SNAPS. He now works as a Teaching Associate at Monash, where he mainly teaches third-year units, including PSY3051 - Perception and Cognitive Psychology and PSY3062 - Research Methods and Theory."
18.01.2022 Check out the second speaker of our Beyond SNAPS Alumni Event HIT GOING: https://www.facebook.com/events/757890161700147 "As an aspiring psychiatric geneticist, I am fascinated by the gene-to-behaviour links that represent a source of early-life neurodiversity and cognitive disorders. My PhD project aims to investigate how heritable factors influence brain development, improving understanding of the biological mechanisms that drive clinical behaviours in the first years ...of life. It is my belief that integrating genetic information within clinical perspectives will broaden the lens through which we view common childhood psychological conditions, ultimately improving methods of identification and intervention. Outside academics, I am a strong proponent of peer mentoring, with a keen interest in STEM engagement across the student life-cycle.
