25.01.2022 Throwback Thursday! We dug these photos up from an old magazine photoshoot many moons ago. Back then, our very own Nitro Blue 2010 FG XR6 was pumping out 930hp at the rear treads thanks to a Garret GTX45 on an ETM custom manifold and a few other tricks here and there.... Some things have changed since then, but Rob's tracksuit pants aren't one of them - bless his heart.



25.01.2022 CLEAN! CLEAN! CLEAN! Have you ever seen a Barra engine bay look this good before? Well, Josh Herridge's F6E isn't all just for show - the car has pumped out 1,007hp and has run a 9.89 @ 147mph, as well as hitting 310.48 km/h over the 1,000m distance at Racewars.... The 4-litre block is treated to a heap of Manley gear in the rotating department. The factory head has copped roller rockers with Ferrea valves and Crow race springs. A Garrett GTX 4202 with a CRG manifold does the heavy work while getting the right amount of fuel to the pointy end is the responsibility of a Process West surge tank with two Walbro 460 pumps and a Walbro in-tank pump too. ID2200cc injectors put the E85 to use whilst a complete X-Force exhaust system sees the spent gases expelled at a rate of knots. The plenum came in a raw finish and it didnt match the turbo at all so it was polished along with a heap of other parts. The head was powder coated and while the motor was out, the bay was resprayed. What a street car!

24.01.2022 LOOK WHAT ARRIVED TODAY! A fresh shipment of goodies from the guys at Haltech. The Elite Pro Plug-in ECU offers a true Plug'n'Play upgrade option for Barra-powered BA and FG models.... After using the new technology leading up to, and during Racewars, we knew that we were onto a real winner with this system. All of these units are spoken for - whether it is for new projects or customer upgrades. We can see the potential and so can our customers We run the very same ECU on our humble shop 'Bunky' and the same technology is also employed on Joshua Iacob's 1,255hp FG F6 too. The Elite P'N'P has the ability to collect a complex data log from the engine and transmission which ultimately assists with tuning. We have more control with torque management, fuel control and ignition control, as well as engine protection. Haltech has come a long way with the ZF 'box too - we choose to use PCMTec to tune the ZF if a Haltech engine management system is being used. 22.01.2022 It was a big night last Wednesday for one of our great customers - Nikola Cvetkoski, who ran a personal best of 9.58 at 152mph with only his 900hp tune dialled in. Best yet, he drove the car down there as-is and drove it home too. A pair of old Hoosiers did the best they could to limit the wheelspin off the line. These are awesome results for a daily-driven street car.... Well done Nik!

15.01.2022 Monsta Torque Black Friday Edition! Aidan Wilkinson was searching for some performance in his life; his 4WD wasn't that exciting, but he still needed something with creature comforts and modern looks to match it. His choice of weapon in 2014 was a tuxedo black, 2014 FGX XR6 Turbo. It was factory fresh and the latest model at the time. Living 16 hours out of Perth, the car is driven a hell of a lot. "I use the car as my daily and the 3200+km round trip to Perth is where I do ...most of my kilometres. Having some extra power to play with was the plan, but I never thought I would take things as far as I have," explained Aidan. "When I started asking around on who was the go-to place for late model Ford stuff, all I got was recommendations for Monsta Torque - it was one after the other. After talking with Rob, I knew it was the right move to go with the team there." After that initial discussion with Rob, Aidan decided to go with the Stage II Package to begin with. "I was really happy with the result; the car made 435hrwhp. It was a decent improvement, but like most guys, I wanted more! I then decided to get serious by adding a Precision 6466 high mount turbo setup, which saw the car deliver an impressive 755rwhp - a 320hp jump. It was a whole other beast. I was well and truly hooked!" It wasn't long before Rob had completed a Stage III engine build so Aidan could up the stakes with a more substantial Precision 8385 Gen II turbo on a CRG manifold, with 60mm 'gate. A Process West Stage III intercooler with custom piping keeps the charge side cool, and a custom 4-inch dump into an X-Force 4-inch stainless steel exhaust sees the spent gasses exiting at a rate of knots! Up top, a Plazmaman plenum replaces the factory unit and 2200cc injectors are fed the good stuff via a 460 in-tank pump with two 525 pumps in the surge tank. A custom-made, Monsta Torque catch can takes pride of place in the 'bay. With the engine now making a solid 844.8rwhp, Aidan made the decision to sort the rest of the driveline out too. A Turbo 400 'box replaces the standard item. A custom tail shaft then delivers the power back to a TruTrac-centred diff with welded axle tubes. The 20-inch Vertini wheels look the goods, as do the custom CC brakes - eight pots on the pointy end and six pots on the rear. The callipers wear the 'JET FGX' moniker, which is a neat touch. The black beast rides closer to terra firmer thanks to XYZ coil-overs and reset rear leaves. "I really am stoked with how the car has turned out. Each time my goals changed, Rob and the Monsta Torque team delivered. If I were going to change anything now, it would be the addition of a four-link equipped, 9-inch rear and a cage so I can race the car properly." We reckon a 'chute would be a necessity too because Aidan's FGX really is a jet now! See more

04.01.2022 BILLET ALUMINIUM OIL PUMPS Monsta Torque is proud to announce our newly released billet oil pump assemblies for the Barra motor. After hours of research and development, we are excited to get these fantastic pieces of 5-axis CNC machined goodness onto our customer's motors and out on the road.... This fully cad-designed unit bolts directly to the factory engine replacing the standard pump as a much stronger and more reliable option than the OEM sintered gears and cast aluminium housing. Designed and manufactured in WA from quality, locally sourced materials, the housings are machined from aircraft-grade 6061 T6 aluminium and are semi-hard anodized for both appearance and protection. There is a choice of bold colours for the more adventurous consumer and a more subtle grey version for a more 'stealth' application. The oil pump gears are machined from tool steel and are isotropically polished. The steel backing plate is also isotropically polished.
