25.01.2022 Brrrr, it's been cold in the Walls Of Jerusalem recently! Perfect conditions to test the brand new Mont Adventure Equipment Dragonfly, a sturdy and spacious 2 - 3 person, 4 season tent. Pop in to have a look at this versatile new tent - you won't even have to scrape any ice off!

25.01.2022 I've done some good multi-pitch climbing on the south wall of Bungonia Gorge this year, squeezed in whenever possible and thought I'd share some pics... its limestone and the multi-pitches offer 200-300m+ of quality mixed (bolts+trad) climbing. 23.01.2022 With Mont turning 40 this year we're taking time to look through the archives. And when we say archives, we mean unmarked boxes sequestered here and there in the Mont Warehouse. In one of these dusty boxes, we found a stack of slides along with this story regaling a day mountain biking in Moab in 1999 by Mont staff member David. https://www.mont.com.au//moab-slick-rock-in-gods-own-count Utah has come up with the goods once again. Skiing some of the best snow on Earth has helped to shrug off the daily grind. Three days of fresh powder had Damian, Jude and I totally primed for more steep and deep. But with the weather forecast looking ordinary for new snow, our focus changed to heading down to the Southern Desert Country.

22.01.2022 My last trip of the Covid winter was to the Du Cane Range in Tassie’s Central Highlands, often regarded as the most beautiful alpine scenery in Tasmania. After paddling the length of Lake St Clair, I changed to hiking and snowshoeing mode and trekked into the verdant lushness of Pine Valley, surely one of the most exquisite forests in Australia. 20.01.2022 Keep the kids dry and (hopefully) happy on your next family bushwalk. The Mont Kids Austral Rain Jacket is back in stock. Made from waterproof, windproof, breathable Hydronaute PRO fabric. The Mont Kids Austral Rain Jacket is just as waterproof and reliable in the wild as any of our adult jackets. https://www.mont.com.au/products/kids-austral-rain-jacket

20.01.2022 After the Victorian "lockdown" we were itching to get up into the mountains for a bit of open-air goodness. Not being able to camp or travel over winter can build one's anxiety to mega levels when all you dream of is the outdoors! 20.01.2022 While classified as a winter-grade alpine tent, the Dragonfly is proving itself far more versatile thanks to the ample ventilation: two ceiling vents, two full-mesh/Nylon inner doors, and two fly doors that can be pegged 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 or all the way open. https://www.mont.com.au/products/dragonfly-tent Thank you to Mike Edmondson for the photo from near Caruthers Peak, NSW. ... Thank you to Carol Binder for the photos from the Bogong High Plains, and from under starry skies, Victoria. See more

17.01.2022 A day of bad weather put to good use by Tom Brazier and his peers on a recent mountaineering course in New Zealand: Mulled wine and climbing challenges at a hut on Mt Ruapehu. We had to climb, traverse then descend an interior rope using two biners and a prusik. For the mountaineering course, Tom wore a Mont Supersonic Alpine Shell Jacket which conversely doesn’t like mulled wine and would much rather be out in the bad weather.

17.01.2022 I had an excellent tour on the Main Range with clients recently largely in part due to the awesomeness of the Moondance 1 Full Nylon (FN). Wow, the perfect guides tent, plenty of room, and able to sit up and cook comfortably. Very easy and quick to pitch and not much bigger than my emergency shelter. A real winner! After seeing the benefits the Moondance 1 FN provides, the guys I was with are rethinking the whole commitment of a basecamp style expedition stay. 16.01.2022 One of the biggest jobs at Mont is customer service, with the inbox sometimes a little overwhelming! But the emails are overwhelmingly positive; questions about our gear, messages about how well a customers gear worked, and fun stories and photos from the wild. It isn’t all smiles, though, negative emails do occasionally pop up. But not to let that get us down, often these emails highlight a failure of communication on our part or provide information for us to reflect upon an...d improve with. One email we received recently questioned the price and a particular feature of our Lifestyle Vented Shirt compared to another technical outdoors shirt of the same price. So what is so good about this Mont Shirt, why is it so popular with our customers, and how do we justify the price? 16.01.2022 I tend to plan photographic trips and this one was definitely planned. The forecast for this area, Mount Field National Park in southern Tasmania, was for fine and clear conditions with the added bonus of a full moon. I had the newly released Mont Moondance I tent with me and I thought a high camp on the Rodway Range would be the perfect spot to capture the rising moon and the new tent. This was a midweek trip and I saw no one on the walk in. I picked a nice flat, grassy s...pot amongst the boulders for the tent and set up camp. The pack lying next to the tent is my usual Mont Backcountry. A seriously good, serious bushwalking pack :) It wasn’t long before the moon was due to appear so I hopped up onto a nearby boulder to see it as early as possible. There was a bit of a cool evening breeze so I slipped my Mont Odyssey jacket on to keep the chill at bay. Peace and solitude in the mountains. What more could you want? Regards Geoff Murray Mont Ambassador and wilderness photographer

12.01.2022 We had quite the collection of Mont tents out in force this weekend. I think we had just about every tent ticked off! We were basically a walking Mont catalogue featuring every single female wearing Flashpoint Pants at some point through the trip! Mont staff member Kirsten.... Tents out in force: Moondance 1, Moondance 2 x2, Moondance EX x2, Firefly, Dragonfly and Epoch.

12.01.2022 Bought the new Moondance 2 FN and Helium -4 to -10, put them to work straight away. Two night mission into the Central Highlands Western Lakes, hunting the Wild Browns and Rainbows out there. Happy Customer Here Thanks to @Jauny_boz for the share.

12.01.2022 This afternoon we officially opened our new stairs and the renovated upstairs section of the Mont Adventure Equipment Shop. With more floor space, you can now sit in a wider range of the tents we carry and browse a greater range of clothing. We have more products on display, and the Mont Industrial shop is now housed in a dedicated space to better suit its specialised range of equipment. Local builders Schouten Constructions were engaged for these renovations. Their work is top-notch, and it is rewarding to be able to support fellow local businesses. We hope our valued local customers will enjoy the improved in-store experience on their next visit to the Mont Adventure Equipment Shop.

11.01.2022 In a year where many of us spent large periods stuck at home, the adventures that have been possible are so much more important. Here we present just some of our favourite photos from this year courtesy of our customers, ambassadors and staff. https://www.mont.com.au//th/our-favourite-photos-from-2020

11.01.2022 As you can see, my mate, Dario, is wearing the current Mont Icicle spiced up with the Vermont glasses lol. I think my purple and yellow Mont jacket might also be an old Icicle from way back when but cannot be sure. I found it in 2017 at the 2nd hand snow gear sale that happens annually down at the Kingston bus depot. Even at 20 years old it still kicks ass and has seen multiple backcountry trips. Thanks to Robbie B. for the photos. Your awesome retro down jacket is actually a Mont Igloo Duvet, made in Queanbeyan with Swiss made Rotofil microfibre fabric.

09.01.2022 Dawn breaks over the main range. Mont Epoch, bombproof during overnight gale force winds. Great product. Thanks Mont! Thanks Steve!

07.01.2022 As summer approaches, I keep looking through my list of past walks to see which ones I want to do again. In September 1986 I walked from Lake St Clair, up past Little Hugel to Mt Hugel. I then continued down the western slopes to Lake Hermione, followed a valley up to Lake Petrarch and walked back down to Lake St Clair. A good partly offtrack bushwalk. This time I only had two days, so the plan was to camp next to a tarn up on the Mt Hugel plateau. 06.01.2022 The Mont Dragonfly Tent and Warmlite Boxfoot 750 Sleeping Bags proving their worth and warmth in fresh snow at Mount Hotham last weekend. Thanks to carol.binder.73 for the photos and @malin_gungl for the trip report. Heading up Hotham we couldn’t believe two things. 1. We were allowed out to camp after having the Mont Dragonfly Tent during a month of corona lockdown restrictions and unable to try it. 2. That we made it up and over Hotham given how much snow there was... and low! Continue reading on the Mont Blog: https://www.mont.com.au//fresh-snow-mount-hotham-by-carol-

06.01.2022 We Are Explorers recently took the Mont Dragonfly Tent out for a spin on the Main Range, NSW Snowy Mountains. SPOILER ALERT: They loved it! Read the in-depth review here: https://weareexplorers.co/mont-dragonfly-gear-review/

04.01.2022 Thought you might like to see these if you love the Snowy Mountains as much as I do. Here’s a painting (1.5mx0.5m) of the view from the top of Mt Townsend looking west over the Geehi Valley (in daylight). It’s one of 4 paintings totalling about 340 degrees. The second painting looks east towards Charlottes pass on the left and Rawsons Gap to the right. Thank you to Mark Cambourn for sharing his spectacular landscapes with us. We do love the Snowy Mountains, but the artistry of these pieces is proof that your love is extraordinary.

01.01.2022 @mont.. good tent! Here is some camera phone footage of a storm that rolled in quickly and caused a surprising amount of change to the landscape. I couldn’t escape my tent so I’m glad it protected me from the weather. It was a bit scary but also very beautiful. Other tents around mine were torn to shreds. Always choose quality! Thanks to Stacey Chilcott of Green Collar Productions for the video. Great to hear your Mont Moondance 2 Tent survived and protected you from the onslaught!
