25.01.2022 Thank you so much Isaac Micklem for creating exactly what we needed for our office space. Issac is a Montacute resident who has started up a cabinetry business, please go check out his page! https://www.facebook.com/isaacmicklemcabinetry/

25.01.2022 Yesterday afternoon, Montacute QRV assisted other brigades from East Torrens and Onkaparinga Group, with the burn off that got out of control. As there are now no fire restrictions in the state, we remind you to take care when conducting a burn as it is still very dry. On the way home we assisted Norton Summit Brigade with a cow stuck in mud!

18.01.2022 Thank you to Black Hill- DEW for the tour, the Firefighters and Cadets loved it!

17.01.2022 Congratulations Ed and Henry

17.01.2022 Today is a Total Fire Ban Day. If you are unclear as to what that means, take a look at this link to the CFS Website. https://www.cfs.sa.gov.au/ban/what-can-i-do-what-cant-i-do/

17.01.2022 For the second time today, Montacute CFS and Athlestone CFS were responded to road accidents. The first was a motorcycle on Montacute Road, and now this last one on Gorge Road. Both drivers received minor injuries.

17.01.2022 This evening at 17.31Hrs Montacute 44 was responded to a tree down on Corkscrew Road.

15.01.2022 Montacute 44, Athelstone 34P, Cherryville 24, a helicopter, two planes, and a farm Unit were responded at 11:10 this morning to a reigniting bonfire on Hill Road Montacute. The bonfire had been extinguished a week ago and checked by the land owner regularly since. Thanks to Isaac Micklem for the action shot!

15.01.2022 Montacute 44 and QRV, along with many other Fire Trucks, were responded again at 14:22Hrs today to a tree fire near Marble Hill.

14.01.2022 Yesterday, 6 Montacute members assisted National Parks with a controlled burn off near the Montacute Conservation Park on private property. Due to the terrain, a helicopter was used for the ignition. It was a great experience, especially for those who attended their first fire!

13.01.2022 Throw back Thursday!

13.01.2022 Well what a strange training night. Firstly a sprinkler inspection where we recruited our new fire dog ‘Monty’ , then we started a Helicopter Lander Officer training on the online learning hub and then we got called to an incident....

12.01.2022 Montacute QRV was one of 31 vehicles responded to a grass fire on very difficult terrain at Gould Creek today. Crews worked for several hours blacking out the burnt and smouldering fire ground.

11.01.2022 CFS courses are almost back in full swing after ceasing, due to Covid. One of our members undertook Driving Under Operational Conditions course this weekend Thanks for the photo Jono

10.01.2022 Things are starting to hot up here in SA. It is looking as if Sunday may be our first TFB of the season. Watch this space.

07.01.2022 Check out the CFS Promotions Unit!

07.01.2022 Thursday is looking like it might be another one?

07.01.2022 Thank you Athelstone CFS Brigade for coming up and doing a joint training last night. We ran through a structure fire scenario and how we can assist them with Breathing Apparatus. As Montacute 44 does not have BA, Athelstone, Norton Summit or Paracombe CFS Brigade’s will be responded to assist us with structure fires, car fires etc

07.01.2022 This coming Friday and Saturday are likely to be Total Fire Ban Days, and with temperatures expected to be in the 40s everyone needs to remain vigilant.

06.01.2022 Tomorrow is a Total Fire Ban Day with a rating of EXTREME! Saturday also looks like it will be a Fire Ban as well. All residents need to remain vigilant and stick to their Bushfire Safety Plans during these days.

06.01.2022 Just a reminder to Locals.

05.01.2022 TFB declared for Mount Lofty Ranges tomorrow the 15th of November. It’s forecast to be a severe rating! If you have had any burn-offs on your property, please ensure they are fully extinguished prior to tomorrow.

05.01.2022 The safety and well-being of our CFS members is so important. Please ask eachother, R U OK? Not just today but everyday. Featured in the picture below, is a member from East Torrens Group, go Leah!

04.01.2022 Another tree down this morning! Rain, hail or shineGood job team

03.01.2022 Here is a great read about how the Montacute Brigade was formed in 1942! https://www.fire-brigade.asn.au/about-sacf//sacfs-mont.htm

03.01.2022 Tonight, Montacute Cadets did standpipes-down in Rostrevor. Also, congratulations to Georgia for starting her Cadet Coordinator position today!

03.01.2022 Work, eat, sleep, repeat? Same again tomorrow with another Total Fire Ban in the Mount Lofty Ranges. Hopefully without the added fires we had today!

02.01.2022 Despite the fact that the Fire Danger Season is about to end, residents of the area might like to look at the BOM ratings below for the next few days. Last weekends Cherryville burn off showed us just how dry the hills still are, so I would advise residents seeking to burn large (or any) rubbish piles to wait a few days until we have had some rain. Then proceed with extreme caution, and follow the procedures out lined in our last post (Montacute Community Page). Thanks.

02.01.2022 At the beginning of every month, we have a brigade meeting. This is essential for information flow and flagging any issues members might have from the previous month.

02.01.2022 Total Fire Ban Tomorrow!

01.01.2022 Last night we trained for correct radio communications during incidents by sending members out in threes, in different vehicles to pre arranged locations where they would find information about the incident, all the time radioing back to the Station about what they had found.
