20.01.2022 Next week is Book Week and time for a parade! Monday 19th October is Book Week Parade Day. We invite students to come along to school dressed as their favourite book character. Unfortunately due to COVID restrictions parents are unable to attend the parade, but we will make sure we post lots of photos so you can see the amazing costumes our students and staff wear on the day.

15.01.2022 We are so proud of the fantastic effort given by each and every student who represented Montello Primary last night at the NWPSSA Twilight Athletics Finals. Due to Covid19 this event has been 8 months in the making. Special mention goes out to Mitchell Crawford who took first place in both the grade 5 boys 100m and 400m races and Jayda Taiaroa, who placed second in the grade 5 girls 1500m.... Well done everyone.

10.01.2022 On Monday, we are asking students to wear something orange or accessorise with Orange to help raise awareness or ADHD. If students are not participating please wear regular uniform. No coin donation needed.

04.01.2022 This term, students were given the STEAM challenge to design, create & test a parachute. The parachute needed to carry a passenger or parcel (table tennis balls) safely to the ground from a height. Well done to everyone who created a parachute & congratulations to our class winners. Mr Hales.

03.01.2022 It’s great to celebrate our Montello students’ amazing success! Mr Edwards’ Grade 4 students have excelled in the area of STEAM by taking out some big prizes in the recent Tasmanian Science Talent Search Competition. This is a Statewide competition open to all government and non-government schools and Montello Primary has scooped the pool in the Grade 3-4 Results Research Investigation division. First Prize has been awarded to Jackson Blake, Zekai Cumming and Cobe Sheehan fo...r their entry Which hand cleaner is the best? Second Prize went to Summer Hawkins, Jaiden Eaves and Donnacha Griffin for their entry Musical Memory and Indiana Wells, Tilly Hay and Lily Maney won 3rd Prize for their investigation of Which type of chocolate boosts mood levels the most? Summer Hawkins, Lily Maney and Ruby Heazlewood placed second in the state for their picture story book in the themed section, while Indiana Wells, Tilly Hay, Donnacha Griffin and Jaiden Eaves each received merit awards for their poster entries into the themed section of the TSTS competition. Fantastic work to all involved! Congratulations also to their highly motivated teacher Mr Daniel Edwards for his assistance and support.

02.01.2022 We are raising awareness for Epilepsy on Friday. Students are strongly encouraged to wear purple on Friday and students will be connecting finger knitting together to see what kind of creation we can make. Please watch the video below. If you would like to make some purple finger knitting at home and send it in with your child on Friday, that would be great. Shiploads have balls of purple wool for $2. Any shade of purple is ok. ... 02.01.2022 Book Week has started brilliantly and students will enjoy a range of activities through the week. Our Book Fair will be held on Thursday 22nd October with many wonderful books available for purchase. Please see the gallery below to view some of the titles available and their prices. Students will visit the Book Fair with their class through the day. They may bring money to purchase the books Thursday or they can take a wish list home and return it to school with payment on Friday to collect their books. Parents are also able to purchase online through Scholastic. Online payment details will be on the wishlist. Thank you for supporting our Book Fair. Every purchase benefits our school!
