25.01.2022 Toddlers need time and patience . . On this particular day I made berry smoothies for the children and poured it into a little glass jug so the children can pour their own. I showed this 17 month old how to correctly hold the jug and how to pour first. He loved pouring his own smoothie in his glass and check out that focus! .... . The first couple of times a child won’t be successful but children need time, practice, patience and most importantly our trust to master a new skill. Mess never bothered me because the children are taught how to clean up. They also have to make a mess in the beginning to learn. The more opportunities we offer children the more they can practice these skills and the more independent and empowered they feel. I rarely step in a help a child. Why? From my observations children often problem solve and work it out on their own. I will only step in if it’s causing distress and frustration or if they are carrying out the task in an unsafe way. My end goal is for these toddlers to feel empowered, confident, happy and secure. This can’t happen if we step in and do everything for them. See more

11.01.2022 This where I’m meant to be. Here and forever with little people always by my side. The journey I chose is not an easy one to say the least. Some days are incredibly hard and at end the day I’ve learnt more about myself than actual teaching. Some days are pure magic I have devoted my life to my purpose. So I always chuckle when someone says to me You are like a babysitter /child care worker right?. Let me say child care workers work their assess off and they do deserve m...ore credit and definitely more pay. For me I wanted to do more, start my own business and help more families that’s why I did my Montessori training and lucky enough to work with the best Montessori teachers/consultants in Australia. I’m 30 now and this would be my 10th year working with little people. No matter how hard things get I will never give up and I will be honest I spent many days in my first job in a Montessori pre school crying all most everyday because it was more challenging than I could ever imagine. I was a support aid for a beautiful little child with developmental delays, sensorial issues and ADHD for 2 years. Talk about throwing me in the deep end That little boy changed my life. I doubted myself day in and day and I was sure I wasn’t getting through then one day he ran to me and gave me the biggest hug in the universe. (He never hugged anyone) and sort of said my name Stee He only had a couple of words in his vocabulary and tried to say my name. I couldn’t help hold back the tears. I will always be an advocate for small children till the day I die. Children are more intelligent, more capable that we can ever imagine and deserve our respect. There is always a way and always have faith that if you do things with love you truly can’t go wrong

07.01.2022 Early experiences shape the structure and function of the brain. This reveals the fundamental way in which gene expression is determined by experience Dan Siegel . . The relationships I have with the children will always take priority. It’s when the child feels secure, happy and confident is when they are able to succeed. The Whole Brain Child by @drdansiegel proves that calm communication and positive discipline works even on a scientific level. I always reflect back and ...think How would I feel in this situation? Or How would I like to be treated?. Reflection is a huge part of being a Montessori teacher. It goes much deeper than actual teaching. We are teaching children how to be in this world and how to be the best they can be. Montessori supports education as an aid for life . . We are also learning about relationships and life. Sometimes we expect too much from little people and sometimes we expect too much for ourselves. This year has been the perfect year to slow down and focus on relationships that are most important to us. See more

06.01.2022 Reunited These two reunited today after not seeing each other for over 2 months. This picture was taken back in February. Time sure flies! Due to the intimate environment and small ratios the children develop such strong, caring and loving friendships. . .... We can learn so much from children. Children are accepting, loving, kind, forgiving and live in the moment. It was so wonderful to see @leilalutz and her beautiful little girl who we have missed terribly. My door is always open to past, present and future families. When your child enrols with me you can be assured that you will immediately be part of a community with amazing likeminded families.
