25.01.2022 Last week we celebrated Anzac Day on 3 occasions with parents coming in to talk about their jobs, their uniforms, the meaning of Anzac and to read a book and interact with the children for our group time! Thank you to our amazing families for your support we all really appreciate the ongoing relationships you support us in nurturing!

20.01.2022 Free Swing Painting Today we did painting (art) using the swing! The kids loved it!! Budding artists coming through! Thanks Steph and Katelyn for leadership and support!

19.01.2022 SCIENTIST STEPHANIE and her BACKYARD SCIENCE EXPERIMENTS Steph has introduced weekly science experiments into our outside free play natural environments! The experiments scaffold on child led interest and involve children of all ages! Over the last two weeks we created and erupted a volcano and learnt all about force by capitulating ping pong balls! Today we learnt and experimented with gravity using magnets and height to create a group masterpiece from paint soaked Pom poms!! We learnt that the higher the Pom Pom the bigger the splatter!! All the kids love science experiments with Steph!!

16.01.2022 Montessori celebrated book week! Last week we celebrated the book week theme of 'escape to everywhere' by looking at famous explorers, those who travel or animals that have been discovered through exploration! We had a great assortment of friends dressed as pilots, policemen, firemen, astronauts, train drivers, a penguin, explorers, dinosaurs, kangaroos and much more. Thank you to our parents for putting so many amazing outfits together without spending money on outfits! You definitely think outside the box!

14.01.2022 Today in our STEM environment scientist Steph asked the children to be palaeontologists! We had to find the eggs first and then discover what was inside! Fun, fun, fun .....

14.01.2022 Father's Day Breaky! We celebrated dads special day this morning with a BBQ breaky! So pleased our dads, grandads, uncles and mums and siblings joined us for a beautiful morning outside in the sun! We hope you enjoy your special gifts with your families on Sunday!

12.01.2022 Another STEM experience in our outdoor learning environment with Scientist Steph! We learnt about the dinosaur story from millions of years ago to current day! All the children from across our 4 rooms were involved and loved the experience!! Well done Team Monti!

12.01.2022 International Yoga Day! Today the children from Brin Page and Prince William rooms celebrated International Yoga Day! Karen from Simplee Yoga instructed the children in their yoga session. Karen taught the children different animal poses such as the lion, dog, cobra, happy cat and angry cat! To finish of we did the warrior pose which is strong and powerful! Thank you Karen we all had a great time!

12.01.2022 MENTORSHIP and ongoing Professional Development We believe the best way for our Educators to learn and keep developing skills required of a Montessori Educator is to continually provide opportunities for mentoring and professional development. This week we welcome Sharon from our sister centre at Kotara Montessori Newcastle, who is spending the week with us! We are lucky to have such a qualified person offering daily mentorship to our Educators as well as professional development across the centre. Whilst Sharon is with us four of our staff are participating in a week long trading session as part of their Montessori diploma! Soon we will have 7 staff completely qualified in delivering our entire curriculum!! Go Team Montessori!!

10.01.2022 In August we celebrated National Science Week in our outdoor learning environment! Lots of experiments were introduced with the children by our budding Scientist Steph! During this special week we learnt about different famous scientists and what they discovered or the inventions they made! Here are some photos of the fun!

09.01.2022 Staff Training Montessori Style Today we held the first Montessori curriculum training for 2017! Each year we train our new staff and offer refreshment training to existing staff. Today we worked through the Sensorial and Language areas with all staff! Our hands on approach ensures all Educators are using the material in the same manner throughout the entire centre! Thanks to Sarah our Preschool Directress and Sharon our training consultant from Kotara Montessori for running the training!

09.01.2022 We welcome a new scientist to our STEM!! Lucy, one of our Brin Page children was so inspired by our scientific experiments that she has been performing her own at home! Last week we had Lucy take a group science experience by exploring and showing her peers why rainbows are made! Lucy explained her experiment and invited friends to help with each part of the process! Thank you scientist Lucy!!

09.01.2022 BEST OUTSIDE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT In WAGGA Thanks to one of our centre Dads, Dave Masters and his friend who owns Kendall Tree Services we now have the most amazing natural outside free play area ever!! Natural tree trunks adjoining out fort will be paired with a netting bridge, a tunnel and a monkey bar! Not only will this space be our new outside classroom it is where all children can explore, use their imagination and socialise in a almighty natural landscape!! Thank you Kendall Tree Services and Dave for this amazing natural area! Photos to come!!!

07.01.2022 Thank you to all our wonderful families for coming along and celebrating Mothers Day with us today! We had mums, grans and great grans in attendance! It's great to see the joy on our children's faces when we celebrate things together! A huge thank you to my team who always go the extra mile in making gifts with the children and of course to our cook and Steph for making our yummy food. It was a great day all round!

06.01.2022 We love our worms! A new family of worms were welcomed into Montessori last week with all our friends showing great interest. We talked about what worms can and can't eat and how to care for them. We even got to pat our new friends!!

04.01.2022 With the lead up to Easter we have been looking at the lifecycle of a chicken. To extend our children's interest we welcomed Anna from Cackleberries Farm who provide fresh farm eggs across The Riverina. Anna brought some baby chicks in for the children to hold. They all loved it!!

04.01.2022 STEM at Montessori!! We do STEM every day not just a special event! It's part of our work cycle daily but our resident scientist Steph loves an extra challenge with the whole centre in our new outside learning natural environment! Last week we learnt all about weather patterns and what makes rain. We used shaving cream on top of water to act as the cloud and by slowly adding food colouring we helped the cloud to rain! We also made a tornado in a bottle and by turning the bottle we generated a water vortex! Due to the centripetal force we directed the object towards the centre of its circular path!! All the children had a fun and engaging experience! Go STEM Montessori!

03.01.2022 Purposeful Engagement is our philosophy! Each day we purposefully engage with our children! This week we made flags so we could have bike races! All children were engaged and lots of fun had! Our Educators even had a race!! Thank you to our wonderful children and staff for such a fun afternoon!
