24.01.2022 Monto Neighbourhood Centre's Play & Parent Support Group meet at the Centre each Wednesday morning between 9.30am and 12 noon. all are welcome, including Family Day Care carer's. the cost is negotiable with the Coordinator Ms Kathy O'Sullivan, please contact if new in town. The group have a break during School Holidays and Public Holidays.

20.01.2022 the Monto Writers Club are meeting in the Monto Neighbourhood Centre on the 3rd Wednesday of the month between 1.30pm and 3pm. Our Writers Club is modelled on the other clubs in Eidsvold; Mundubbera; and Gayndah. our club is a means for aspiring writers and established ones, to share ideas and participate in some fun writing activities to stimulate the mind in different writing styles. Anyone interested in Writing, regardless of whether it is a novel, your life history, or poems, are all welcome to attend and be involved. Each month you are asked to write a one page work on a particular topic to present at the next monthly meeting. The next meeting is on Wednesday 17th June. Afternoon tea is provided, or you may like to test us on your culinary expertise.

15.01.2022 June 2nd, Tuesday, the Neighbourhood Centre vehicle will be taking some Writers from Monto to the Eidsvold Writers Club, leaving the Centre at 1pm. If there is any persons interested in joining the Monto Writers Club and would like to come with us, please contact Kevin Fox at the Centre on 4166 1733

13.01.2022 the Centrelink/Medicare Agency has had a change in layout at the Neighbourhood Centre, creating a little more privacy for each of our clients. Please let the Agents Margo & Kylie know if you think the new layout works for you. And we would like to inform the residents of Monto and surrounding areas, the Monto Neighbourhood Centre's Centrelink/Medicare Agency is open for business between 9am and 12 noon each day, with the agents assisting, and also for self service between 1pm and 4pm. Occassionally the afternoon session will be cancelled, however ample notice will be given to inform you of this. and NO we haven't closed shop contrary to gossip around town.

10.01.2022 Emma Vincent from Relationship's Australia will be at the Centre on Friday 5th June to speak to anyone interested in the Parenting Orders Program for the North Burnett, between 10am and 2pm.

09.01.2022 Thursday 9th July,, Kathleen Dimes from Hearing Australia will be presenting a talk, and giving FREE Hearing Screens at Monto Neighbourhood Centre between 10.30am and 2.30pm. Posters will be going up around town soon, so book in with Kathleen when you notice them, or contact the CSO - Kevin Fox to make arrangements for you, on 4166 1733

04.01.2022 the Computer Kiosk consisting of 2 digital computers and one touch screen computer are available for community use at the Centre via a gold coin donation. It is no longer a Seniors only kiosk, so please feel free to utilize the Centre's internet connection with a gold coin donation. if we have several using the computers then we may need to revert to a booking system, however at this stage that is not warranted.

03.01.2022 FREE training of up to Cert III is available through Makro & Associates, who are in partnership with Monto Neighbourhood Centre. Presently courses in Aged Care are made available through assistance from the Ridgehaven Aged Care Complex. there are some students in Monto also doing a Cert III in Disability Studies. however other courses are available, so please contact the Makro & Associates representative Robyn Phillips on 0412 699 970 or email her on: [email protected] for further information.
