13.01.2022 A guest has taken this kind of time to write a review on our park and Monto....thought I’d share. ‘We recently stayed here for 2 weeks during the Covid-19 lockdown and restrictions. What a lovely town Monto is! We walked most streets for a bit of exercise, otherwise work for hubby, book reading for me. We supported the local butcher and can highly recommend their yummy meat especially the eye fillet. ... Our stay with Lesley & Peter at the caravan park was a five star experience. They made us feel welcome from the day dot. The entire place is immaculate and we were even greeted Easter Sunday morning with chocolates. We will be back if ever visiting that way again’. Thank you C&C for your terrific review

10.01.2022 Monto Caravan & Cabin Park is OPEN for business! Great spot for space and that well used phrase ‘self isolating’. Over the past few days we have received many calls from caravan’ers/nomads expressing great concern about what is open, where they can go and so on. We welcome you, however please understand that we will be required to monitor numbers and will use our own discretion in these very unusual uncertain times. ... Our amenities block remains open with the strictest of hygiene standards being followed. We have always maintained a very high standard of ‘clean’ in these areas......we have amped this up even more so with systems of disinfecting multiple times a day. We will be asking our guests to also follow strict hygiene regimes in public places for their own safety and their fellow travellers. With a dump point available here, fully self-contained vans using their own facilities place less burden on our amenities which we greatly appreciate. Our sites are very spacious providing plenty of distance between neighbours, however we will be implementing an ‘every 2nd site occupancy’ to create even greater space. 05.01.2022 Twins again at Three Rivers Tourist Park! This new mum is not too sure about the situation yet. There could be some bottle feeding coming up this afternoon...

05.01.2022 We saw lots of posts about the 4 new murals in Monto (QLD) and got to see them in rain and sun. Replenishing our gas bottle in town, we heard a delightful back...ground story from the shopkeeper relating to them. Did you know there are 5? When the artists were creating the water tower mural, one of the local residents who makes soft toys, would bring them a constant flow of cuppas. When one of them ripped their jacket, she was even there to sew it up. Her kindness and generosity were greatly appreciated by them and the night before they left Monto, they crept in at dark of night to create a mural dedicated to her. When you check out the 2 wall murals in the town centre, have a peek around the corner through the alleyway! Not many people know about it, not even townsfolk! See more

01.01.2022 Coal was discovered in Selene, south of Monto around 1925 by Wales immigrant Jonas Thomas. Jonas first discovered coal by sinking a well as he was an experience...d miner with a long family history in mining. Although active for only 18 years this site produced 516,000 tons of coal during this time. The old mine can be viewed from the road.
