07.01.2022 A Brief summary of our Tennis Club for 2015: As for most sporting clubs, there is an Affiliation for their local club to join. Tennis is no different. We need to affiliate with Tennis Queensland to provided insurance cover to you in the event of accident or person injury. The $30-00 Affiliation/Monto membership fee will cover all Tennis Queensland requirements, such as insurance etc, plus allow free day time court hire at the Monto Tennis club until the 31st December 2015.... The Monto Tennis Club runs Saturday social fixtures with adults, from 12:30pm onwards for a $5-00 ball fee to cover costs. This caters from beginners to advanced. All Junior members have access to Organized Club Fixtures from 10:00am 12:30pm every Saturday at no extra cost. This will give our junior players a chance to implement and improve the skills they have learnt in coaching, through match play. Coaching will run every Thursday for the full school year. The coaching program is based on the highly accredited Hot Shots program. With the low compression balls and mini nets etc. to help our juniors to acquire their tennis skills from an earlier age, (as per brochure). Upon joining the Monto Club your details will be sent to Tennis Queensland and a free Hot Shots tee shirt will be sent to you within 6 weeks. Private coaching is also available, just phone Trish for details. Social night tennis is on every Thursday Night from 7:00pm onwards, for a fee of $2-00 per set. Courts can be hired at any time. Cost: Non-member Day hire: $10-00 per hour Members: Free Non-member night hire: $16-00 per hour Members: $12-00 per hour Key for access is available at the Duck-Inn. Regular tournaments are conducted throughout the year. Monto-Biloela intertown match is on the 15th March, 2015. Tennis Queensland Junior Masters Tournament will be held in Monto on the 25th 26th April. Paroz/McGovern Cup is to be held in Monto on the 14th June. Monto & District Closed Tournament Date TBA. 05.01.2022 A big thank-you to all the players and workers that made our Monto Junior Development Series tournament, a successful weekend. The weather was kind to us and some great tennis was had by all. Congratulations to all the winners and especially to some of our new tournament players who gained a trophy. Isabella Knapman Division 5 Singles and Doubles winner, Rowan Knapman Division 6 Singles runner-up, Matilda Dow Division 5 Doubles runner-up, Connor Roth Division 4 Doubles runner-up, Brodie Bygrave Division 2 Singles winner.
