22.01.2022 Wine of the Week Are you ready to spoil yourself, family & friends this upcoming Christmas season? Then join us at Montrachet! This week we have something very special from the Champagne Region, showcasing '2007 Taittinger Comtes de Champagne, Blanc de Blancs Grands Crus' !... The Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs is the finest example of the Taittinger House style champagne and is always a vintage cuvée. It is made with 100% white grapes from the five villages (Avize, Chouilly, Cramant, Oger, Mesnil-sur-Oger) with a Grand Cru classification for the Chardonnay grape. This cuvée is created using juice from the first press only. A small percentage (5%) of the blend is aged in fresh oak barrels to create the very delicate balance of toasted notes in the final wine. The 2007 Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blanc is an exceptional year, living up to expectations as soon as you open the bottle. 10.01.2022 Wine of the week! We are heading this week to the Burgundy Region, more precisely Côte de Beaune, showcasing '2015 Domaine Mongeard-Mugneret ‘Les Avaux’, Beaune 1er cru'. The Côte de Beaune starts between Nuits-Saint-Georges and Beaune, and extends southwards for about 25km to the River Dheune. The trend of producing red wines continues from the Côte de Nuits to the north, down through Beaune, although the wines become lighter and more perfumed.... For more than 8 generations, the Mongeard family has been established in Vosne-Romanée since 1620, right in the midst of the Côte de Nuits, producing wine with an utmost respect for tradition. Beaune 1er cru 'Les Avaux' is both silky and dense with a great distinction in the mouth. It is very well balanced, as well as warm and round. With varied and complex aromas of leather, red berries, blackcurrants and morello, this wine smells like Christmas! Celebrate with Montrachet this festive season!
