24.01.2022 Come along to the MEG Christmas Picnic!! Saturday 14th December, 12noon 2pm, at Warrien Reserve, Croydon North. Meet at the playground and picnic area, entrance from Zealandia Road W, off Warrien Road. BYO picnic including something to share (BBQs available) and shoes for a short bushwalk. 23.01.2022 While Covid-19 means we can’t do all that we normally do, nature carries on regardless and brings us hope of recovery. The bare ground that followed the fire at Bungalook Conservations Reserves in Kilsyth South fifteen months ago is now replaced by the very verdant scene in this photo, taken 13/7/20.

12.01.2022 As a result of last March’s prescribed burn, Bungalook Conservation Reserves has revealed yet another plant species not known to occur anywhere else in Maroondah! Graceful Fescue (Festuca asperula) is a species that hardly ever flowers except after fire and its tussocks look like Red-anther Wallaby-grass. Thanks Graeme Lorimer for reporting this new find.
