24.01.2022 Tomorrow at parkrun we will celebrate International Women’s day! So grab a friend, a colleague or a family member and bring them along for a walk, jog or run on our picturesque boardwalk course. Purple is the international colour for symbolising women so we hope to see lots of it out on the course. See you, your barcodes and your smiles at the shelter at 8.50am for a 9am start. 08.01.2022 Well done to the 147 runners and walkers who took part in Montrose Foreshore parkrun #78! We welcomed visitors from Melbourne (and Bellerive ) as well as a huge 24 first timers. Welcome to the parkrun family! The conditions must have been good out there today because 42 people recorded PBs! Congratulations to Logan Brazendale who celebrated his 10th junior parkrun. And a huge thank you as always to our volunteers who made today’s event possible, especially Peter White and th...e Martin family who underwent Run Director training. 04.12.2021 *** updated roster in photos, many thanks to all that have reached out so far. Only 3 more roles to fill this week. *** Oh dear our poor volunteer roster looks very sad so we are getting in early this week since we need to fill the whole roster for Saturday. This year we would love to see some new faces on our roster to give some of our regular volunteers a chance to participate.... All our roles are nice and easy, if you don’t already have the virtual volunteer app download it and have a play, if you have any questions reach out, we are happy to help. In the current climate and with a couple of health concerns amongst our team we believe this is the prudent thing to do. Saturday 8th January will be parkrun number 144 at Montrose Foreshore. What’s so special about that? you’re thinking What if we told you it’s an event number that’s part of the Fibonacci sequence. By now you’re probably thinking what is that? and have started googling Fibonacci sequence... But if you’re a user of the 5k parkrunner app you may have seen Fibonacci as one of the little challenges it has. So if you’re looking to tick off another number in the Fibonacci sequence come along this Saturday 8th January. Coincidentally it’s our friends at Geeveston parkrun’s 144th event too, so you have 2 parkruns to choose from See more
