24.01.2022 One of our committee members, Brigette Jennings, is participating in the Worlds Greatest Shave on Saturday the 8th of August. She has written the below statement. Please help us support Brigette in her endeavour to raise $1200 to fight Leukaemia! Hi everyone, I have decided to shave my head for the Worlds Greatest Shave on the 8th of August. I had an urge to shave my head during this lockdown and so I thought, why not put my hair to good use? We know right now is tough for e...veryone, although we cant forget that for people who are going through cancers and other illnesses are at high risk and so even to be a step closer to finding a cure would be amazing. If you could donate even a single dollar, it would mean the world to me and the people it helps. Below is the link to my page. I will also be livestreaming it on the day for all the people who want to watch me become bald :) http://my.leukaemiafoundation.org.au/brigettejennings

22.01.2022 We are pleased to announce that as from today, Thursday 22 October, some of our courts will be available for members to use. Strict quarantine rules have been imposed and as such we must all comply with the following conditions to enable the continued use of the courts: Please see the attched letter for all the details. We look forward to seeing you all up at the club soon.... Best wishes, Montrose Tennis Club Committee

22.01.2022 After todays announcement, we are pleased to confirm that Tennis is back! We understand many of you want to know exactly what that means in terms of how we are able to go about it. This includes numbers of players, coaching and social play restrictions, etc. We are now awaiting advice from Tennis Victoria to release their guidelines for return to tennis. Hopefully that will come today sometime. In addition to that, Local councils will have there guidelines for clubs to follow.... We still need to finalise with the local council regarding exact requirements. However we do know that when playing, there is a maximum of 4 players per court, andyou must list all players names when making a booking on Book-A-Court. In summary, there is some layers of information and guidelines that we are waiting on before we can give you a clear picture of how tennis will look as of tomorrow. Stay tuned and we look forward to advising soon!

21.01.2022 Stay safe everyone!

20.01.2022 To all members, Unfortunately our courts will be closed as of today for 6 weeks due to the new covid restrictions. For those of you that have already paid fees, we will work something out. For those who still need to pay fees, we will wait until mid September to see how things are going.... Take care and stay safe. Montrose Tennis Club Committee

18.01.2022 Though the restrictions that came into effect today will impact significantly on tennis, they are, fortunately, not as severe as the initial restrictions, which saw tennis clubs close down entirely. Tennis Victoria have announced that all competitions have been cancelled immediately for the next six weeks. Suffice to say the following competitions in which Montrose teams were entered have been cancelled: ERT junior tennis, FTG ladies tennis, and KDNTA night tennis The good ne...ws is that members will be able to use the courts at Montrose, provided that: your playing group contains only members of your household, or you and only one person from a different household play singles. To ensure that we adhere to these requirements, members will need to use book a court to gain access to a court. Please note that the clubhouse and toilets will be unavailable to members during the restrictions. Montrose Tennis Club

16.01.2022 Dear Members, Recent advice from Tennis Victoria is that all tennis clubs in Victoria should close immediately and remain closed until advice to the contrary is received. We had hoped to keep courts open for members to play socially, but acknowledge that the risk in doing so would be both irresponsible and counterproductive to the measures being ... taken to combat the spread of the Covid 19 pandemic. We regret having to take this action, but know that we will have the support of members who, no doubt, are keen to get through this particularly unpleasant period and return to a state of normalcy, where social distancing and no tennis are things of the past. Any updates on the sanctions placed upon our club will be relayed to you. In the meantime, on behalf of the committee of Montrose Tennis Club, I extend to you and your family members the very best wishes for the future. Kind regards Montrose Tennis Club Committee

10.01.2022 To all our members, We had a committee meeting last night to discuss the latest information released by Tennis Victoria in regards to getting clubs and members back on to the courts. We are working through the requirements and hoping to open up the courts this Thursday or Friday. We still need to have discussions with our local council tomorrow to ensure we also meet their requirements.... 03.01.2022 The Victorian Government is relaxing the restrictions on sporting, cultural and recreational activities provided that we adhered to guidelines designed to protect public health and safety. Following are a summary of the guidelines we have been asked to comply with at this stage. Firstly as advised by Tennis Victoria access to playing tennis will be on a bookings only basis; there will be no generic site PIN code for the facility for the immediate future. Some guidance on ho...w to book a court will be provided later. Bookings will be in 1 hour blocks with a 30 minute clear buffer between your booking and the next booking. Please do not book back to back sessions if demand is high, we want as many people as possible to have access to playing tennis. We need to do some maintenance to a few of our courts (1, 2, 3 and 7) so until Saturday afternoon only courts 4, 5 and 6 will be available. Montrose tennis club committee

01.01.2022 We are happy to announce that we are opening up court bookings to the general public, as well as our members, AND we are happy to let you all know that because of the amazing generosity and support we have been given by the Mt Evelyn Community Bank (Bank of Bendigo), we have been able to reduce the cost of lights from $5 per half hour, to $2.50 per half hour! Stay Safe everyone!
