18.01.2022 Bucking the trend has resulted in Montville’s Fudgyboombahs catering to the sweet tooth cravings of people from all over Australia. Pivoting the business to build a greater digital presence has resulted in online sales exponentially increasing - meaning the coveted fudge makers are able to stay in business while their shop frontage was closed. While many other businesses scaled back their marketing and advertising efforts Greg and Gayle Jones instead decided to invest across... social media marketing platforms - and the move paid off. Before COVID19 our online sales were a tiny component of our business, Greg said. People loved the experience of travelling to Montville and visiting us - so our shop sales and loyalty was our success story. People would return time and time again - even when we offered to post their fudge. Now, not only are we reaching our loyal customers, many others are now buying our fudge online. The couple invested in advertising through Facebook - specifically a paid boosting strategy - and ensured their website was prepared for any influx in online business. In response, sales from northern Brisbane and all over Australia - from Tassie to Cairns - have been coming thick and fast. With more than 140 fudge flavours in their armoury, Greg and Gayle say their longer term recipe to success was a focus on offering an outstanding customer experience while also continuing to evolve their products and innovate. 13.01.2022 The doors are open and the welcome mats are back! Montville, Queensland is good to go and ready to greet our visitors. It’s been a wild ride these past three months but most of our businesses are bouncing back. Each business has a survival story. Here’s a sugar coated one. After suddenly closing doors to customers on March 29 Montys of Montville found its sweet spot - pivoting and reaching new customers Australia-wide.... Monty’s - a destination favourite with its selection of gourmet chutneys, jams, marinades and their candy and gelato made on site - refocused its business model to incorporate an increased online presence. When I found out that I had to shut our shop the first thing I did was review and upgrade my website. I also planned a new social media approach which resulted in my online sales quadrupling over the six weeks my shop front was closed owner Greg Burnett said. The business reached people that had never heard of Monty’s before - and the approach also connected people with my other business Candy Addictions (now returned to Montville) - keeping our operations afloat. Happily you can now see the sweet treats being made with the colourful creations produced onsite most days. (In small groups) Do try their freshly made gelato and waffle cones. This year sees a NEW EVENT for runners of The Blackall 100- a 21km race starting at #LakeBaroon. This lush trail takes runners along the Sunshine Coast Great Walk to #KondalillaFalls and ends at the QCCC Mapleton. Runners of all 3 events will be mostly on the bush tracks. Even though the borders are closed, the 7th running of the #Blackall100 is sold out and with the 25k, 50k and 100k, the biggest yet.
