24.01.2022 We are proud to introduce our Head Chef Adrien Voisin. Adrien comes from a restaurateur family based in Marseille in which his Grandfather, Mother and Father either owned or ran restaurants. His Grandfathers restaurant was famous in the 80’s and the most popular dish being bouillabaisse will likely get a run at Monty’s. Having worked in Perth the last few years Adrien has made the Leap to Monty’s and is looking forward to presenting quality Modern Australian dishes for you ...to enjoy. In his own words a good chef is nothing without a team and we are actively searching and interviewing for the roles available in the kitchen. Sous, Pastry, Chef de partie and apprentice. This is a great opportunity for chefs all levels (We need a sous to become head down the track) to work in a brand new kitchen with all modern equipment. We will be doing a casual fine dining, modern Australian cuisine, using all amazing products from Western Australia such as natives, marrons, crayfish, Blackwood valley beef, dormer lamb, Albany oysters and line caught fish. Working mainly day shifts, we will make as much as possible in house in an off the grid cellar and a garden is in the making at the moment. It would involve picking up our supply from markets and local growers and producers within the Albany area. Managed by a talented chef and a multi awarded wine maker, there is lots of room for growth as the business is expanding. 22.01.2022 Hi Monty’s Leap team, we are excited to tell you that opening is so close we can almost touch it. It’s been a long process but in the end it’ll be worth it. The builders are completing their finishing touches now and once they are done we still have some very important jobs to complete which will continue in to early 2020. 17.01.2022 Howdy folks. Its about time we updated you all. Like everyone else, in the world, we have been caught up in the COVID-19 crisis. We were due to open 7.4.2020 and were well on track for that with some wiggle room built in. We had to make the very hard decision to shut the whole thing down the Monday just gone. Staff that had been working were stood down and staff that were about to start were advised there was no longer a position for them. Really feeling for all of them.... Its hard to say how long it'll be before we are able to restart Monty's restaurant and cellar door, updates will be posted from time to time when we know whats happening. Our retailers are still stocking and selling Montys Leap wines so please support them as much as you can. Government restrictions in WA see us only able to sell you three bottles of wine at a time. We are hoping they will reverse this decision for wine producers as its now our only source of retail income and shipping wine 3 bottles at a time is tricky. Stand by for a package release for the three bottle deal to be posted soon. In the meantime, stay safe, wash your hands and look after each other. Big virtual hugs from us at Montys Leap X
