05.01.2022 We were contacted by a customer who had her Mazda CX3 repaired using conventional methodology by the appointed Suncorp Recommended repairer. When she complained... of the quality they sent her to a second Suncorp Recommended repairer who resprayed the vehicle. We were asked to check the vehicle as the owner had lost all faith in her insurer and their Recommended Repairers. It took about 10 minutes to identify the roof had not been fully welded as per the Mazda procedure. After spending over $20K repairing the car AAMI decided enough was enough and they total lossed the car, our client is now driving a new Mazda CX3, replaced as per the policy. If you have concerns over the quality of repairs seek an independent opinion. They may advertise that Suncorp Recommended repairers are chosen due to their shared commitment to customer service, high quality & cost effective repairs but in this case, like many others, it is all about price. This insurer thinks they are getting value simply because the desperate repairers agree to work for a low labour rate. The insurer has no process to check repairs are carried out appropriately & they continue to send work to these repairers. Will they issue a recall of all turrets replaced by the repairer to check is not a SOP at this shop? See more
