31.01.2022 As many of you will be aware, Bush Shack Brewery has bought out Moody Cow Brewery and will open their doors to the public for the first time today in the Ferguson Valley as Bush Shack. Their brand and experience will add significantly to the Ferguson Valley landscape, continuing on what Karen and I started some 12 years ago, when we purchased the land from the Bells. I’m proud of the family friendly venue that we created and look forward to watching Dan and Coralie take it ...to another level I’m also proud of the employment opportunities that we have created especially for locals. Many local kids have gained skills experience in the hospitality sector that have put them in good stead as they navigate the path of life. And we have made many lifelong friendships as a result of Moody Cow. To all the people who have supported us throughout our time at Moody Cow, a heartfelt thank you. Make sure you pop in and say hi to the Bush Shack crew. I’m sure you will enjoy the new vibe that Dan and Coralie will bring to the Fergie Valley. I intend to reduce my workload and engage in more family time. I will move solely into the wholesale sector so Moody Cow beers will still be available at good liquor outlets. Again thanks for all of the support over the years and I look forward to catching up for a beer n chat somewhere soon. Cheers n beers Grunta

24.01.2022 Many of you will remember our little post from the 1st April. As they say, sometimes truth is stranger than fiction! After over 10 years of Moody Cow being my life, I’m excited (and a bit sad at the same time), to advise that Moody Cow has been bought out by another Brewery. ... From Monday 8th October Moody Cow will become Bush Shack Brewery. The new owners are Dan and Coralie Wind. Many of you will be familiar with Dan and Coralie, either from Bush Shack Brewery in Yalingup or from many of the festivals that they participate in around WA. Most importantly they are genuinely nice and friendly people. They bring with them over 16 years experience in Brewery operations and a diverse and tasty range of beers along with energy and enthusiasm that will benefit their customers and the Ferguson Valley in general. Make sure you come and say hi at your earliest opportunity. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed. Moody Cow beers will still be available on tap at various locations and in good bottleshops around the region and in Perth. On a personal note, I’d like to thank all of the people who have supported Moody Cow for the over 8 years that we have been open to the public. At times it’s been a challenging gig, but I take pride in having created a venue where families and indeed people from all walks of life can come and enjoy a day out in a relaxed and enjoyable setting. I also take pride in creating significant employment opportunities for many local and regional people, employment opportunities that would never have existed without taking the punt on creating Moody Cow. I won’t go into names, but there have been a number of people who have gone over and above in helping me negotiate the tough times. I’ll just say I so value having people like you in my life....I’m so much richer for having u guys around. I’m not big on fanfare, so no goodbye party. I’ll just look forward to catching up with as many of you as possible for a beer and a chat, whenever and wherever that may be. So again, thanks for all the support along the way. I really appreciate it! I look forward to watching Dan and Coralie build on what we have started and taking it to another level. I’m sure their presence in the Valley will be to the benefit of all. They are local, family run and independent. And they a genuinely good people. Please make sure you pop in and give them your support. Cheers and beers Grunta

15.01.2022 More interesting conversation regarding storing lithium waste in close proximity to Dardanup township and Ferguson Valley. This should not be allowed to happen. Raise your voices everyone and say NO!

13.01.2022 Many of you would know our beautiful brewery dog Charlie. Sadly she has a cancerous tumour on her spleen that needs removing for her to continue on bringing joy to her family and friends. As you can imagine the medical costs associated with the operation are significant, anything up to $10k But we think she’s worth it. We have set up a ‘go fund me page’ so any help would be very much appreciated. Please feel free to share our post. Thank you and all the best for a safe and ...happy festive season. https://www.gofundme.com/f/z57r9-charlies-cancer

12.01.2022 Today we said goodbye to our beautiful girl Charlie. We gave it our best shot and she bravely fought to the end. But it wasn’t enough. She was smothered in love right to the end, as she deserved to be. She is resting in peace now and we will pick up the pieces and carry on. Thank you for the unconditional 12 3/4 years of love and joy you gave us. Our hearts are broken but we are comforted by the reality that you aren’t suffering. Goodbye lovely girl

07.01.2022 Ferguson Valley is touted as a mini Margaret River. A beautiful natural region with Wineries, Breweries, mountain bike trails, Gnomeville and bordering the beautiful Wellington Dam and Forest. Yet close by we have this visible scar on our landscape, which looks set to become bigger. We need industry such as Lithium mining to grow our economy. But to dump their processing waste in close proximity to the developing tourist region that is Dardanup and the Ferguson Valley defies logic. It fails the stupidity test.......miserably. I’m sure there are far more suitable areas to dispose of their waste. Please share this around. We need your support to ensure the Ferguson Valley remains as beautiful and natural in the future....as it is now. Thanks
