21.01.2022 Want to create documents, or spreadsheets but don't want to pay for Microsoft Office? There are some really good alternatives that are free. Do a web search for Libre Office or Open Office. Download install and play, you'll be surprised at just how good they are. And who says nothing for free is any good ?! Just make sure you download from the correct website, remember these products are free - you can however donate to the people behind these great projects.

20.01.2022 Do your research, I have seen people on eBay buying iPad 2's for more than the Australian Apple on line store sell them for (free shipping). Crazy man .....

16.01.2022 WannaCrypt How does it get in? The ransomware WannaCrypt0r 2.0, also known as Wanna Decrypt or WannaCry, spreads through phishing emails disguised as invoice, job offers, security warnings and other legitimate files. Malwarebytes will block it. We can provide multiple licenses (at a great price) to protect you or your business.

15.01.2022 Backup reminder to us all..... The encryption virus comes in many forms, but the results are the same. ALL of your photos and documents encrypted with little chance of recovery. Backup your precious stuff regularly - you won't regret spending the time to do it. Beware though, if you simply copy and paste to another hard drive or USB stick, make sure it's unplugged from your computer (or it could suffer the same fate as your files in the event of a virus sneaking through)...

14.01.2022 Beware of "Telstra" calling you about your computer. It wont be them. Also, Microsoft don't call you either.

14.01.2022 Be careful out there. A new customer of ours just bought a new Laptop from a big reputable store in Kawana. It came pre-installed not only with Windows but over 10 nasty programs, infecting the laptop with Malware and Trojans. Don't assume the 'Big Shops" know what they are doing. Ask somoene who actually cares (us of course :-) ).

14.01.2022 Stop the malware infections with Malwarebytes, thoroughly recommended by us. Can also get you a discount.

11.01.2022 Post Office Email is still catching people. It looks something like this Tell everyone you know to look out for it. DELETE it. Do not click on any links in this email, it can encrypt every file on your computer.

10.01.2022 Want to know what the big software companies have to say about Australians paying as much as 50% more then than other folks, read here. Be warned, it might make you a bit angry. http://www.techrepublic.com//it-pricing-inquiry-resu/1751

09.01.2022 A reminder, unplug your phone line from the wall during (before) a storm, may save your computer and router - and lots a dollars.

08.01.2022 POST OFFICE EMAIL. Do NOT open an email from the Post Office, I have had 3 clients in the last 18 hrs who have potentially lost all of their files to a crypto locker virus. Just delete the email, then empty your deleted folder.

07.01.2022 Don't fall foul to the new RansomWare threat sweeping the globe. Make sure your PC is up to date, there are security patches to counter the threat. Also use the Premium Malwarebytes program which will stop the infection. We are now a Malwarebytes re-seller and can help protect all your computers for a good deal.

07.01.2022 A new strain of ransomware, a Petya-esque variant being called Petya/NotPetya, is swiftly spreading across the globe today, impacting tens of thousands of computers as of 2:00 p.m., PST. More powerful, professional, and dangerous than last month's WanaCrypt0r attack, the Petya-esque ransomware uses the same EternalBlue exploit to target vulnerabilities in Microsoft's operating system. However, unlike WanaCrypt0r, this ransomware instructs you to reboot your computer and then locks up your entire system. Long story short: if you get this infection, you're hosed. I recommend you install Malwarebytes - we can provide a license for the premium edition at a discounted cost to our friends and clients.

07.01.2022 Windows 10 is coming. Not sure what happened to windows 9 !!! And they have brought back the start button and menu... Yahoooo. If you would like a preview, this video is pretty good. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bULsgyliru4 Cheers Gus Gillespie

06.01.2022 Windows 10 is here. If you have windows 7 or 8 on your PC you can upgrade to 10 for free (within a year from 29th July). Proceed with caution though, back up all your important stuff. Have had a few issues with license keys - so my advice is, if your PC is working fine - leave it a while, if you can't wait - do your back up.

05.01.2022 MS Office 365. Was just looking into this service from Microsoft, and it looks great, however, for some reason, here in Australia, for the Small Business Package - we have to pay 33% more than the rest of the world. Telstra are the sole provider in Australia for Office 365. Good on ya Telstra............
