25.01.2022 A day to remember.

21.01.2022 Omnia made this video yesterday to thank everyone for coping with the year of the pandemic - and to remind everyone to continue to stay COVID-safe as we emerge from hibenation. Thanks Omnia - what a multilingual superstar you are!

20.01.2022 Finally! The announcement of $5.3 billion into public and social housing is welcome news. With both Ascot Vale and Flemington mentioned as sites for the state government investment in public and social housing, we’ll have to see more details to know what this means. Both sites had previously been part of the renewal programs involving the sale of land for private housing with 10% more ‘social’ housing. Will be watching out for more details. https://amp.theage.com.au//this-will-change-lives-5-3-bill

15.01.2022 I'm standing for Myrnong Ward because I believe local communities are stronger when government listens to people, does its research, and acts with honesty. And because we have to do more on climate before we fry. We've had lots of massive challenges in 2020. It's easy to feel bleak. But humanity has hope at its core, and I am forever hopeful. We can keep trying to make our community more compassionate, fair and live in ways that don't destroy the planet. ... Councils have power to impact daily life and community happiness in countless positive, and negative, ways. Things are pretty ordinary this year, and I want to try to help make them better. Key priorities for me are: Listening to residents and consulting on all decisions Acting on climate change Supporting community, arts and sports groups for social justice Funding council services for aged care, disability and early learning Preventing discrimination based on race, gender, age, sexuality Planning for communities, the environment, heritage and traffic Curbing over-development while also providing affordable and public housing Transparency, accountability, honesty Caring for animals Reducing gambling losses and harms I do hope everyone in Myrnong Ward received a letter from me recently. These were all delivered by volunteers with masks and sanitiser. If you didn't receive one, email me at [email protected] and I'll send an electronic version. If you'd like to quiz me on any topic at all, please get in contact. And if you'd like to support my campaign for election to Moonee Valley Council, please get in touch as every bit of support will help in this unusual election. Sharing this post or inviting local friends to follow the Blog page is very helpful. The postal election starts 6 October. Enjoy local democracy COVID style And just in case you're wondering why posts say they are authorised by R.Iser with a link to this facebook page, it's a VEC rule and applies to all social media posts connected to the council election.

01.01.2022 MVCC officers have advised they’re in the process of turning all the taps back on at the parks including Travancore Dog Park. Many thanks to all the people who have regularly topped the bowls up with water for dogs over the past few months!
