07.01.2022 FREE legal advice! Call us Monday for a same day call back, Monday night. Ph. 9376 7929

07.01.2022 We share concerns for the well-being of residents of the nine local public housing high rise blocks as they enter enforced hard lock down. We obviously wish to see the health and safety of these communities maintained and recognise the dangers this pandemic poses. We know that residents in these communities are capable and resilient. But we are concerned too that the enforcement measures and speed at which they have been implemented may contribute to confusion, trepidation, a...nxiety and alarm. It is critically important that guidance, information and care are prioritised. It is critically important that residents - as those best placed and able to article their own needs and concerns - are listened to. It is critically important that racism, discrimination and division are shunned in all forms and in every aspect of all responses here. And it is critically important that the rights and the strengths of residents are recognised and respected. We are pleased to see members of the wider community rallying in solidarity, with messages of support and efforts to ensure assistance is appropriate and coordinated. We are liaising with local agencies around the support service response and coordinating with Flemington and Kensington Community Legal Centre and Inner Melbourne Community Legal to see that legal help and information is made available to residents as soon as possible.
