24.01.2022 ** PHILL FARLEY MEMORIAL PRODUCTION TROPHY NIGHT ** This weekend we remember and celebrate a great man of our speedway family with our annual Phill Farley Production Trophy Memorial Night. Phill had a distinguished career at Moora Speedway which started around 1976 racing in B Stock, then moving on to Super Stock and he was still racing in 1984. He has been Vice President of the club and for a short time, President, as well as a Scrutineer. ... Outside of the dirt life, Phill was a long serving teacher of Manual Arts at Central Midlands Senior High School from 1974 to 2014. Some of our current production drivers were taught by Phill and it is a real honour for them to race in his name. This annual event always attracts some big names and this season is no different. Barry Rose will be back to defend his title and with over 20 nominations and prize money up for grabs, we are in for a competitive night of racing. If you are a speedway regular, you will not want to miss this one. If you are new to speedway, this will be an exciting and entertaining meeting to get you hooked! We hope to see you there
24.01.2022 Moora Speedway have been busy putting in this years crop, which is an important part of our fundraising for the club. We wish to thank all those businesses who assisted us with this job. Huge thanks to Cadeyn Catto, Callum Simpson and all the team at McIntosh & Son, also big thanks to Brian Staines at FMC Crop Protection, Summit Fertilisers, Elders Insurance Moora, Moora Shire, Redmac and the Moora Volunteer Fire Brigade. Huge thanks also to Warren Vanzetti who supplied the seed and sprayed prior to seeding and will continue to manage the crop over the next few months. Our club could not have got the crop in without all these amazing people and businesses. THANK YOU.
24.01.2022 What can we say about last night??? It seemed to be that if it can happen at speedway, it happened last night in Moora We can only laugh about it It was definitely a night of ups and downs but we saw some of the best racing we have seen for a while in every division which was awesome. We had a huge crowd (and a now empty canteen and bar!) who were entertained from the beginning. It was a late night and a warm one but the atmosphere at the end of the night was still electr...ic so we think that’s definitely a positive Thanks to all of our drivers and their pit crew for your patience, our volunteers and officials who did not stop the whole night and our very vocal spectators A massive thank you to Allie and the team from MOORA CHIROPRACTIC CLINIC who sponsored this crazy night! For some of them it was a first experience so we hope you enjoyed it and we thank you for your support. 20.01.2022 MOORA HOSTS POLITICAL HEAVYWEIGHTS The country town of Moora is situated on the banks of the Moore River in the Wheatbelt Region of Western Australia, 200km nor...theast of Perth. Moora is the largest centre between Perth and Geraldton and provides a wealth of services to the region, but one of its best assets is Moora Speedway, a track the entire Speedway Australia family should be proud of. Moora Speedway recently hosted two very special visitors to the venue, Minister for Sport and Recreation Mick Murray and The Governor of Western Australia, the Honourable Kim Beazley. Both visited separately within the space of a week, making for a very high-powered start to the 2020/21 season. Mr Beazley first spoke with Cheryl Chipper, who designed and helped paint the amazing 19m mural at the track. Cheryl shared how the artwork has helped continue the special heritage and link between two communities. He then met with committee and club members up at the new club rooms and was very impressed with the clubs innovative and modern facilities. Co-President, Dale Cockman talked about the club hosting National and State Titles and how these big events bring big numbers of people to town to compete which helps boost the local economy. The Governor then spoke with club members Des King and Michael Vanzetti who helped to start the club, back in 1966/67 and shared how the club has grown over the years into one of the best speedway facilities in the country. Finally he spoke with one of the youngest drivers, Taj Vanzetti who explained about Junior Sedan Racing, the safety components in his car and the great opportunity speedway provides for young people in becoming safe drivers, learning mechanics and importantly learning to follow rules and instructions via the stewards and officials. Mr Beazley was interested to look closely at the two speedway vehicles set up to showcase our sport and mentioned his memories of visiting Claremont Speedway and enjoying the thrill of watching dirt track racing. It was a wonderful opportunity for the club to showcase the importance of Speedway to regional communities and the club would like to thank the members who attended and made themselves available to meet with the Governor of WA. Particularly to Geoff O'Hearn and Mick Vanzetti for bringing out the race cars for display. Sports Minister Mick Murray visited for the opening night of the season on October 31 and was also extremely impressed with the progress the venue has made in recent seasons. He was keen to hear about the national linkages and benefits that Moora Speedway receives from being aligned with Speedway Australia, who charge no affiliation fees or commissions to tracks in WA (or anywhere else in Australia). Moora Speedway are included in the innovative Cropping Program that the Local Shire have put in place in recent times. The Local Shire have a 34-hectare block which is made available to local sporting clubs on a 3-year lease with Moora Speedway currently in their second lease. Donations of fertiliser, chemical and seed are received from local businesses and harvesting occurs each year around October. Profits from the harvest assist with completing projects and the general running of the venue. It’s initiatives such as this which have seen the venue go from strength to strength, with a great team on board, a proud history, and an extremely bright future.
20.01.2022 For over 7 years, Mrs Carmel Oliver has been the smiling, friendly face at our front gate, selling you entry tickets and having a chat to everyone and anyone. She spoke often about her many grandchildren and great grandchildren and was always interested in listening to other peoples stories. We are devastated to hear of her passing and are saddened that a ray of sunshine will be missing from our club. We send our thoughts and love to all of her family and friends. ... We will miss her positivity and smile. Rest In Peace Mrs Oliver xx See more

20.01.2022 COCKMAN, RUMBOLD AND EARLE WIN AT MOORA In what was the last show of 2020 at the Moora Speedway, Dale Cockman, Paul Rumbold and Olivia Earle were convincing win...ners in the feature races last night. Earle was dominant throughout the night in SSA Junior Sedans, recording wins in both of the heats to start the feature from pole position. Despite pressure from Jimahli Nunn Mohammed Dom and Tylah Steele throughout the event, Earle was able to hold her cool and go on to record her first ever feature race win against a good nine car field. After a slow start in the SSA Street Stocks, Paul Rumbold grabbed a thrilling win from heat one winner Clayton Blee in the second race, then would repeat his efforts in the fifteen lap feature race, leading every lap. Blee held down second for around half of the race before Sean Bowen made his way through, followed by Gavin Minty. Daniel Ameduri, racing for the first time against his daughter Stefani, was fourth, with Blee rounding out the top five. The SSA Production Sedans saw a good field of fifteen cars on hand, many looking to get laps under their belt in preparation for the SSA Production Sedan WA State Title to be held at the venue later this season. Current Victorian champion Beau Riley made the journey from Collie for the event and claimed the opening heat win from Moora local and Club President Dale Cockman. Cockman would then race away to claim the second heat race win ahead of Riley, seeing them tied on points and sharing the front row for the fifteen lap feature. Despite pressure from Riley the entire race, Cockman put in another strong performance to claim the feature win ahead of Riley, while veteran driver Terry Main came home third. The next meeting for Moora will be held on Saturday the 16th of January. Official Results SSA Production Sedans Feature Race, 15 laps: 1. W5 Dale Cockman, 2. V1 Beau Riley, 3. W7 Terry Main, 4. 16.01.2022 Today marks the beginning of National Volunteer Week, an annual celebration to acknowledge the generous contribution of volunteers. In light of this, over the next few weeks, we are going to feature some of our regular volunteers to put names to faces and say thank you for the time, effort and love they put into our club, not just on race meeting days, but all the days in between! Most of them won’t like being acknowledged and will tell you they do what they do because they love it, not for a thank you. But that’s exactly what makes them volunteers. So let’s celebrate them anyway

Moora is the largest regional town between Perth and Geraldton and provides a wealth of services including one of Australias hidden speedway gems The Moora Speedway. This is the clubs second, much larger mural that has now been erected onto the back of the speedway grandstand. 12.01.2022 What a night of racing! We welcomed drivers from far and wide and also quite a few spectators who had been travelling the country and stopped in to enjoy a beautiful night of speedway. We continue to be impressed by our Juniors and how quickly they improve with confidence. Our one top star Tylah Steele led the feature till the end, with Jimahli Nunn and Luke Martin tussling for first in new stars. ... Some cleaner racing from the Street Stocks but no less entertaining. Jace Kempton maintained his lead in the feature, with Gordon Wyatt, Damon Lyall and Paul Rumbold not far behind. The fight for second and third included losing Gordon Wyatt to possible tyre issues and a minor incident causing damage to Paul Rumbold’s bonnet meaning he was pretty much driving blind. He held on to take third behind Jace and Damon, with Dave Watson and Gavin Minty not far behind. Our main event of the night, the Phill Farley Production Memorial, sponsored by Moora Automotive Service and Repair, DG Cabinets, Wyatt’s Transport, Perth Truck Refinishers, Moora Truck and Auto Parts and Truckline Geraldton, provided some awesome racing. We lost a few early in the night with 15 starters for the feature. Jake Blight and Kyle Sayer led early with Dale Cockman, Jayden Maughan and Barry Rose scrambling behind. After a restart, Beau Riley came up into the mix and after a second restart and 11 laps to go, Kyle, Jake, Dale and Beau were out front. Beau overtook Dale, who had to pull off on lap 29 with car troubles, leaving Kyle Sayer, Jake Blight and Beau Riley as top three, previous winner Barry Rose coming in 4th and Jayden Maughan in 5th. If last night was any indication, we can’t wait for the WA Production Title coming up at the end of Feb right here in Moora. It is going to be a huge weekend with some high quality racing and it could be anyone up there on the podium. Thanks again to sponsors, volunteers, spectators and drivers and their crew for another great night out at Moora Speedway. We hope to see you at our next meeting on the 12th December which will include a strong field of Limited Sprintcars, as well as 360s and 410s. Results below, more photos to follow. 05.01.2022 A cooler night for speedway last night but that didnt mean there wasnt any less heat on the track! The Juniors were impressive as they competed in the Australasian Championship, with new stars and top stars combined for the event, it was hard to tell who was who. The feature was led by Beau Oldfield and Taj Vanzetti and after an initial restart, it was smooth sailing and competitive racing till the end, with the lead changing a few times. ... The Productions were a close bunch all night and provided the crowd with some fast and exciting races. As usual, most of our thrills and spills were saved for the street stocks which was heightened because of their annual trophy night. We had a flip from Gary Blee early in the night and thankfully he was fine, although out for the night. The feature saw drivers drop one by one with flats and other troubles, with only 5 crossing the finish line. Thank you to our major sponsor FOODWORKS and to our heat sponsors, AJAX Contractors, DWC Trees, Badgingarra Motors, Linthorne Automotive and Gary Blee. We appreciate your support and generosity. 05.01.2022 Kindly supported by AFGRI EQUIPMENT MOORA, our first race meeting of the season was a big one, with a cool night, great food and commentary on point. The Modifieds definitely put on a show, with great racing and a lot more jostling between drivers than we’ve seen in previous seasons. For a full write up, head to the WA Modified Sedans Facebook page. Production numbers faded throughout the night but we were still treated to a competitive feature with the race leader Dale Coc...kman bowing out with a flat tyre toward the end, leaving it open for Josh Fraser, Ben Curtin and Leon Wood to fight it out. Our Street Stocks once again provided some entertainment, with Paul Rumbold and Gavin Minty continuing their on track rivalry. Throw in production driver Sean Bowen and the return of Chris Vanzetti, and we had an exciting feature on our hands, with Chris’ return resulting in a thrilling win. It was great to see some new names in the Junior division and we look forward to watching them improve as they gain more confidence and skill out on the track. There were only three of them, but the Super Sedans were still great to watch, with their speed, lead changes and even some clever (or crazy) driving, resulting in wheels leaving the ground around turns! Thank you to our amazing canteen ladies who not only turned out great food but also got into the spirit of Halloween Thank you to our volunteers, many of whom were new to their positions last night, and as always to our spectators, drivers and pit crew for a great night See you again on November 21st for the Phill Farley Memorial Production Trophy Night Results below: MODIFIED SEDANS 15 Luke Fraser 11 Ashley Baker 6 Paul Stevens PRODUCTION SEDANS 3 Josh Fraser 99 Ben Curtin 53 Leon Wood STREET STOCKS 117 Chris Vanzetti 91 Sean Bowen 19 Dave Linthorne JUNIOR TOP STARS 121 Taj Vanzetti 71 Chayse Jackson JUNIOR NEW STARS 44 Luke Martin 24 Chloe Lawton 77 Phalicity Covington SUPER SEDANS 76 Terry Green 6 Tristan Green 22 Steve Schofield *photos to follow
