24.01.2022 URGENT NOTICE - FAKE SITE ATTEMPTING TO SCAM PAGE MEMBERS IF YOU RECEIVE A REQUEST VIA MESSENGER LIKE THE PIC BELOW -***DELETE IMMEDIATELY***.- This is a phishing account and nothing to do with the Museum. 24.01.2022 ATTENTION CRAFTERS; ANZAC day is fast approaching, and we would appreciate your assistance to complete our latest project; to cover an ANAM Airplane in poppies. A BIG THANKYOU to all who donated generously, contributing thousands of crochet poppies in response to our last call out. We were so inundated we were able to complete both the wreath, and ANZAC lettering display, with enough left over to commence covering an airplane. We are 3/4 of the way to completion.... As you can see we welcomed a wonderful collection of assorted designs ranging in size from 6 - 12cm. Poppies can be dropped off during Museum opening times Mon - Fri 10.00 - 4.00pm and Weekends 10.00 - 5.00pm. We would like to acknowledge all contributors, so please leave your name with your poppies. A BIG THANKYOU in advance!

24.01.2022 Some serious work has been done on the Museums’ Wackett A3-22. And it’s looking amazing :) Can’t wait to share the completed restoration!

24.01.2022 Busy time at the Museum getting ready for visitors on the weekend. One of our clever members suggested a mirror above the BA Swallow that’s now fully mounted on poles, so you can see inside the cockpit. More lighting completed around Diana and some major work being done on our Sycamore Open all weekend, come and say hi!

23.01.2022 We often hire out the museum for all sorts of functions including film clips! Here’s one done recently for a metal band - love the night time drum playing under the Gannet! https://youtu.be/Mxgq6iICJ1U

16.01.2022 Bob Eastgates was a longtime supporter of the Museum and a massive loss to the Vintage Aviation world.

16.01.2022 Via Maurice Austin, some rare and incredible pics of the Museum's DC-3 VH-ANH.

15.01.2022 Today we commemorate the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. We pause to remember those who served, those who lost their lives and those who returned to a life that would never be the same. On that day, the Museum's Beaufighter made its first flight. Too late to take the fight to the Japanese, this aeroplane is preserved in a wartime colour scheme as a tribute to those who served in general, and the veterans of 31 Squadron in particular.

15.01.2022 If you are an avid aviation reader, we now have both new and second hand books on the website for sale! Head over to the online store and check them out! https://www.aarg.com.au/store/c23/Pre_Loved_Books.html

02.01.2022 A wonderful surprise on the truck today - beautiful uniforms and accessories kindly provided by Virgin Australia. Including a Captain’s uniform and hat and a male and female outfit from the now defunct Tiger Air, so it will be only fitting these form part of our display on modern aviation in Australia. It is just as important to tell the stories and history of these airlines as it is to tell the history of the aircraft industry, civil and military aircraft types. Now to get permission to go and set it up sometime!

02.01.2022 The Australian National Aviation Museum is commemorating ANZAC day by blanketing our Sabre aircraft in poppies. This is a work in progress and will be on display 2 weeks prior and post ANZAC day in our Main Hanger. Many volunteer craft hours have contributed to this amazing display of thousands of unique hand crocheted, knitted and sewn poppies. A HUGE THANKYOU to all our ANAM supportive crafters, with special thanks to the Members and Friends of the Dingley CWA.... In case you miss it, it will again be displayed completed in November, 2 weeks either side of Rememberance Day.
