25.01.2022 BOWLS CLUB TO CLOSE: Whilst located just over the border in NSW, the Finley RSC Bowls Club sat under the auspices of Bowls Victoria. Sad to hear their members were informed yesterday that their greens will be closed at the end of September 2020. Another victim of COVID-19 plus dwindling membership #BowlsTalkVIC

21.01.2022 Bowlers in Victoria are doing it tough right now. Stage 4 means no bowls or social activities with clubs closed, and Stage 3 means very limited activity. We're ...all missing our Friday night drinks at the club, which would often include a member draw or raffle. Welcome to the Starting Friday 11th September, one lucky member, and their club, could win ,! That's , and , ! But... there's a catch. We need your help. We're talking to you, the club secretary or person responsible for getting your club's member details entered into Bowlslink. The winning member drawn * by having a complete and accurate Bowlslink profile, which will be verified by BV. If the data cannot be verified, ,. This will continue each Friday until we find a winner. So get your club data in check and ensure all your bowling members are in Bowlslink. It will only benefit your club moving forward. Think pennant results, club comps, tournaments, etc. Members with playing rights MUST be in Bowlslink. One location for all your member data, and it doesn't cost your club a cent, just a small amount of your time, which right now many of you have plenty of! So members, get onto your secretaries, and offer help if needed, to get your club's data up to date. Click here for entry criteria*, full T&C's, FAQ's, draw process and Bowlslink resources: https://www.bowlsvic.org.au/competitions/

20.01.2022 - : We’ve heard the Premier’s announcement today and we are hopeful the detail supporting this announcement will ...be provided to us by Government this week. At this stage we can confirm the following falls into Step 3: Outdoor contact and non-contact sport for people aged 18 and younger Outdoor non-contact sport only for adults Gathering and density limits will apply In addition, Regional clubs will be able to serve patrons outdoors, with a cap of 50 seated patrons per venue, and an updated ‘two square metre’ density limit in place. Indoors, venues can open with a cap of 10 seated customers per space with up to two spaces per venue and in line with the existing ‘four square metre’ density rule. Tables must be spaced at least 1.5m apart, cleaned after every customer and the details of all patrons must be kept. We hope to know numbers and/or any other restrictions as they relate to bowls soon, and will inform clubs as soon as we hear from Government. The above comes into effect from 11.59pm on 16 September, 2020. Stay safe. Look after your mates. Team BV

19.01.2022 After what has been a lengthy and arduous task, we’re pleased to provide the final draws for Midweek and Weekend Metropolitan Pennant, for season 2020/21. ..., will your club be competing? Find out here: bit.ly/3kspfsb Special Note - ALL VIC CLUBS: BV has been advised via VicSport that 'Clubhouses can now open (this includes non-licensed premises), as the Restricted Activity Directions no longer stipulate that they are required to be closed. We are however discouraging people from congregating in clubhouses to socialise, and encourage windows to be opened where possible to increase ventilation'.

The ditch units to form the green and banks will be installed and before you know it, there will be grass on a completed surface very early in 2021. Great work to all involved! 07.01.2022 First night back for Tuesday Night Bowls. We had 6 first time bowlers playing in our 3rd team against some div 1 bowlers. Congratulations to them all, great night of fun and the expected loss wasn't that bad.

07.01.2022 * Edit 9/9 - note this advice currently applies to the whole of Victoria, understanding that there will be variances as Metro and Regional Vic move through the ...different stages. We don't expect to have an update or any changes relating to playing bowls until late September. While it was good to see some sunshine today, it is clear we are going through tough times. It’s tough for clubs and tough for us individually. But together we can get through this with some Victorian spirit #VICSDOITBETTER #GOVICS We return to bowls this season, and I’m sure like us, you can’t wait. Below are some details on our upcoming competitions which are changing in line with the announcements made by the Victorian Premier, Daniel Andrews: : the announcement from the Premier yesterday leaves some uncertainty about whether we can commence the season on the date we have previously advised (November 7 for Weekend Pennant and November 10 for Midweek Pennant). We have had multiple starting dates and plans for some time, and still have several options to come. We will make this decision once the government provides specific guidance on when we can return to clubs and what restrictions on number of participants is known. We imagine this will take 2-3 weeks for government announcements to be finalised. When we can provide this advice, it will include other competitions such as Junior League, 6-a-side and 7-a-side competitions. With regard to the conclusion of last seasons’ , we have no choice but to postpone them to January 2021. Given the time of year, they are likely to be held in Warrnambool for the benefit of the cooler climate. We will confirm this in the coming weeks. We will return to Bendigo for the coming seasons’ State Championships (2020-21), usually held in April. We will make all decisions as soon as we can (once we know more from the government in terms of specifics regarding community sport) and will endeavour to give as much notice as possible to assist clubs with their planning. We ask for your patience and understanding as we do everything we can to get everyone back playing, ensuring it is in a safe and responsible manner. Regards, Team BV
