18.01.2022 Moorabbin 3rd's got their first victory for our Club this season beating Ormond at their home ground in today’s away game. Put in to bat Moorabbin had a shaky start losing the half centurion from the previous game Bijith Balakrishnan for just 1 run. But Monty and Prasil then batted solidly and had the team reach 50 by the end of the 10th over. Prasil was next dismissed for 20 and then out walked the Skipper Reuben Paul. Monty scored a very well compiled half century and some... good batting performance at the end by Gavin Kalra (1st game for the club) and the returning Swing King Chanaka enabled the team to reach 186 in the allotted overs. Ormond had a solid and watchful start but our Premiership winning bowler Chetan Der got their opener bowled to a ball which would have gotten the best of batsman out. Monty then joined the act snaring two quick wickets to leave Ormond in a precarious position. Sinish Matthew bowled with discipline and had 2 back to back maiden overs and finished his economical spell leaving the hosts on the back seat. The rest of the bowling unit finished off the job making Ormond fall short of the target by 20 runs and ensuring the Binners get their First Win for this season. Let’s fight across all teams and try to get Wins in all grades next week. GO BINNERS!
