22.01.2022 Congratulations to our Pipe Major Simon Blackshaw for winning the 2019 Ian Murdoch Memorial Award. This award recognises a young person (aged 16-30) who has shown a significant contribution to their Scottish organisation and shows a desire to promote Scottishness to the wider community. The Scots of Victoria Coordinating Group established the Ian Murdoch Award in 2013 in memory of Ian Murdoch, who contributed significantly to the Scottish community over many years. Throughout... his life, Ian showed many desirable qualities: he was thorough, organised and compassionate. He was enthusiastic about encouraging and supporting young people in Scottish organisations and was a keen advocate for Scottishness in this multicultural society. The award is presented in recognition of these same qualities in it’s recipient. Congratulations again Simon. A worthy nomination and wonderful achievement.
