22.01.2022 Sad day at the Funeral of Sally Lauritz today. Sally was the 1st XI scorer during the mid 1990's. She and Mark were great contributors during their time at MPCC. Sally suffered a severe stroke 12 months ago and passed away on April 21. Condolences to Mark and his family from all at MPCC.

16.01.2022 NAME OUR NEW CLUB! As part of the consultation process with club members, it was agreed that our new club will adopt a totally new name rather than using a comb...ination of previous club names. Now is your chance to name the new club! We would love to hear suggestions from players, supporters and community members. The name should represent the local area that the club plays in, create a sense of belonging, and also be fresh and original. If you have a suggestion, please send to either [email protected] or [email protected], or comment on this post by Sunday 6 August. Entries will be considered by the interim club committee and ultimately be voted on by club members. We look forward to hearing your suggestions! See more

15.01.2022 Hi all, Following on from yesterday’s Facebook post, please be advised that notice of a Special General Meeting of the new club will be sent by email this evening, to be held at Dane Rd Reserve on Saturday 26 August at 4pm. As foreshadowed, the meeting will comprise of both official club business as well as our first social opportunity as a new club. The agenda is set out in the email, and includes the election of the new committee, adoption of a club constitution, and a reso...lution to change the club name. The committee thanks everyone that has submitted a suggestion for the new club name and there were some great entries. Ultimately, the name 'Bayside Cricket Club', which was suggested by several people, has been chosen as the name to be approved by members at the meeting. The reasons for this are as follows: - It strongly represents the area that the club operates in. When people think of the area, they think of Bayside Melbourne. There is currently no Bayside Cricket Club in any local competition. - There were a number of suggestions with the name Kingston, including Kingston City and Kingston United. The committee felt that Bayside was a name that better reflected the local area. There are also soccer clubs in the area that are named Kingston City and Kingston United, and we also wanted to ensure we were not confused with Kingston Hawthorn, the Premier Cricket Club. - The name will be attractive to people moving to the area that may be searching for a club to play for. - Kingston Council, where the club is located, has endorsed naming the club Bayside Cricket Club. Our nickname/mascot is still to be determined, and there will be a poll put out shortly for people to vote from some of the suggestions put forth. Please take the time to review the notice, and we look forward to seeing everyone on the 26th. If you do not receive the notice and would like a copy, please email [email protected] Kind regards Simon

04.01.2022 NEW FENCING FOR DANE RD! MPCC is proud to announce that Kingston City Council have included $300k in their 2017-18 Budget towards a new high fence on the train line, a vital step in securing cricket at Dane Rd Reserve long term. 02.01.2022 Good morning everyone, Hope everyone is enjoying the rest and the footy. (Maybe not us Melb and Rich supporters). Just would like to bring up again the possibility of the club getting an overseas for this season. ... I have had plenty of players offered to me for our club needs who would bring plenty on field and off field. Our hurdle is 'accommodation'. As previously stated, if anyone has any capacity to house a young English cricketer for even a couple of months at a time. Please advise myself or discuss with the committee. Thanks. Fletch
