18.01.2022 It is with a sad heart that we pass on the news that one of our dear members Andrew (Andy to many) Blenkinsop passed away on New Years Eve. Andy had been ill for a few months and unfortunately his body could no longer hold on. Andy joined Moorabinda in 2016 and became a committee member in 2018, later that year he took on the groundskeeper role. With his small band of dedicated helpers he mowed the court twice a week and worked tirelessly on keeping the courts and surrounding... area in tip top condition. Andy was a member of the successful GC pennants team in 2018 and 2019 where often the opposition players from Dunsborough and Busselton would share a joke on weather Andy’s beloved Land Rover would actually get him home, it always did. Andy was always trying to improve his game and in his last year of playing was often heading up to Perth to play in as many competitions as he could. In 2018 Andy was runner up in both the GC Country Singles and the Ellis Cup. Andy always had a smile for everyone and we will miss him dearly, our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife Sue and his family here in Australia and in the UK R.I.P. Mate See more

17.01.2022 CROQUET IN BUNBURY IS BACK IN FULL SWING After two weeks of getting back into playing again, Moorabinda Croquet Club invited the Forrest Park Croquet Club from Perth to come to Bunbury for a challenge match. The format of the contest was the same as inter-state and international competitions. Five best of two mixed doubles games and twenty best of two singles games. The Forrest Park team consisted of the WA State mens and womens teams. Moorabinda held their own in a very evenly matched event with the Perth team eventually winning 27games to 23. Once again Moorabinda showed the visitors the usual friendly country hospitality at their Hay Park croquet complex and this was acccentuated with beautiful autumn weather. Forrest Park have now invited Moorabinda back to their Perth club for a return match,

09.01.2022 To all our members, families, friends and the greater Croquet community

08.01.2022 We're back! Almost. Ten players at a time, six courts, social distancing - not a problem.

08.01.2022 Our annual Ellis Trophy competition has just finished. This is a Golf Croquet event where we match high handicap players with low handicap players as partners in a round robin, level play doubles event. We had 12 entries this year (24 players). This year's winners were David Squire and Lesley Holmes. They won nine out of their eleven games. Well done.

07.01.2022 A sausage sizzle was enjoyed by twenty five members today after an enjoyable afternoon's play. We feel for our Eastern States compatriots who are not so lucky, but our thoughts are with them. Perhaps some of this milder weather will wash their way. We hope so.

07.01.2022 The South West croquet pennants competition was played over five weeks in October. Three clubs entered six teams and five of the teams were very evenly matched. Moorabinda's 'Red' team finished well in front of the field to win the shield for the Club for the second year running. Our 'White' team finished equal second. Next year there will be more clubs involved and the competition will be heated up.
