03.01.2022 #TBT "I was only quite young, 5 years old, when the Darley Army Camp was first built in 1940. The day the war ended in 1945, I was in Grade 6 and the student chosen to ring the school bell, which was in the big gum tree near the school’s entrance. I sang out the war is over, the war is over! The teachers told us we could all go home for the day." - Jean Carboon - nee Wittick. Thanks for sharing! @Bacchus Marsh & District Historical Society Inc.
