19.01.2022 I just have quick update about some of the measures we've put in place for those who recently arrived from Queensland between 2 and 8 January and is required to... be tested by Tuesday. If you know anyone who falls into this category - please pass this information on. Firstly, all COVID clinics have increased staffing and extended their opening hours to service the increased demand from Queensland travellers in the next few days. There are seven COVID Clinics at public hospitals in the metropolitan area, three in regional areas and testing is also available at all WA Country Health Service hospitals. In addition to the State-based clinics, a special arrangement is now in place for Queensland travellers who need to have a COVID test before Tuesday 12 January to access a COVID test at any of the private pathology providers. Many of these centres have extended their opening hours this weekend and for Monday. Please note that Some of these private clinics may require an appointment. For Queensland Travellers no referral is required and testing is free. There are 25 collection centres around the Perth metropolitan area to Mandurah and some regional sites. Some have drive through facilities. The providers offering this service via their collection centres are Australian Clinical Labs, Clinipath, Western Diagnostics see their websites for specific details. People presenting at COVID-19 clinics over the weekend should anticipate delays, be mindful of the heat, take water and wear a hat. Prioritisation in queues will be given to older persons and those with disabilities and we ask people to remain patient and to be respectful of staff and others waiting. Of course, any person who is experiencing symptoms should get tested immediately. For more information on testing and to find a location, please visit www.healthywa.wa.gov.au/covidclinics. For more information about these and other COVID-19 directions and measures in WA, please visit www.wa.gov.au/covid19

08.01.2022 Community members may have observed the large tree in the Moora Swimming Pool carpark being lopped last week. Tree pruning and lopping is undertaken in a very c...onsidered manner. The large tree in the carpark dropped a branch last week, very nearly hitting a community member. The tree was immediately assessed by local arborist Dave Watson Dave Watson Contracting PtyLtd. The conclusion following this assessment was to regrettably remove the tree, which we believe was in the best interest of maintaining public safety. Such decisions are not taken lightly and are done so in a very considered and informed manner. If you have noticed an issue with a tree in the Shire of Moora that could pose a risk to public safety, please report it to us on 08 9651 0000.

06.01.2022 IMPORTANT: Travel restrictions for QLD Effective 12.01am 9 January 2021 (midnight tonight) WA’s hard border with Queensland will be reinstated to reduce t...he risk of COVID-19 coming into WA. Based on the latest health advice, QLD will now transition from a ‘very low risk’ State to a ‘medium risk’ State under our controlled interstate border. This means that travel from QLD will no longer be permitted. This also applies to anyone who may have been in QLD since 2 January and hasn’t completed 14 days in a lower risk State or Territory. Effective immediately, anyone who has arrived from QLD since 2 Januaryor was in QLD from 2 January and has since arrived in WA will be required to: 1. self-quarantine in a suitable premise until you have spent 14 days in WA 2. present for a COVID-19 test as soon as any symptoms develop 3. present for a COVID-19 test within 72 hours 4. present for testing on Day 11 after arrival in WA. Travellers wishing to return to QLD, who do not wish to present for testing, must leave within 72 hours. They must remain in self-quarantine and then travel directly to the airport. If they will still be within WA for the next 72 hours, they must present for testing and remain in self-quarantine until they receive a result, and then travel. Anyone who has arrived from QLD since 2 January will be contacted by WA Police with these instructions, as a result of the G2G Pass declaration system in place in WA. All travellers arriving from 10.00am today will be tested upon arrival at the airport, will be required to self-quarantine for 14 days and be tested on Day 11. More information: bit.ly/2LgiuOl Visit: bit.ly/2K1KSTp for a full list of public and private testing sites. We ask that you phone ahead for testing in country areas.

02.01.2022 In line with updated public health advice, the Perth and Peel regions will return to pre-lockdown life from midnight tomorrow night. At 12.01am this Saturday 15... May, pending no further local cases, all conditions will return to how they were prior to the ANZAC Day long weekend. This follows over 101,000 tests being conducted in WA over the past three weeks and incredible effort - and no further local cases being detected since Saturday 1 May. Pending no further cases, the remaining transitional restrictions will be removed, meaning: - Masks will no longer be mandatory, unless you’re at the airport - There will be no capacity limits for weddings and funerals aside from venue capacity - Visitor limits for patients in hospital, aged care or disability facilities will be lifted - The 100-person capacity limit for home gatherings will be removed - Perth’s major stadiums will be able to operate at 100 per cent capacity. This is fantastic news for our community, businesses and the economy. Conditions will remain as they were prior to lockdown for at least one month - and the Chief Health Officer will review the situation again before recommending a transition to possibly removing remaining restrictions and adjusting to Phase 5. As we continue to ease restrictions, it’s crucial that we keep up our testing numbers, and that all Western Australians continue to use SafeWA whenever they go to a venue. As we’ve seen over the past three weeks, testing and contact tracing are absolutely vital defences for our State.
