12.01.2022 We'd like to apologise to those who have been trying to contact Walkabout Physiotherapy recently. Unfortunately we are again without a physio, and have been rather pre-occupied with family life with a newborn. As soon as we have been successful in finding a physio, we will let you know, but for now, we can highly recommend Kelly from Jurien Bay Physio, who is even offering telehealth appointments. Kelly can be contacted on 9652 1132. ... Many thanks for your understanding

09.01.2022 thank you to all of the wonderful ladies who took up the invitation to the Vision board workshop with @sarahgmurray from Moora Wellness Centre last night! The first of many workshops like this one My first guided meditation in front of an audience - thank you for your amazing feedback and for recognising the safe space to share and discuss and manifest For a few people, a huge leap forward into their journey of self awareness and wellness, as previously they had 'neve...r been able to meditate' however, last night, were able to deeply relax, leaving aside their analytical, judgemental and thinking brain, and rest and relax into their natural state - simply being. From this relaxed state, healing occurs! For anyone interested in guided meditation, and learning more about the benefits and how our body/mind connection works - we're thrilled to be offering weekly meditation classes soon @moora wellness centre - stayed tuned

07.01.2022 Fantastic way to kick off a Wednedsday - Thanks Nat! Vitality Moora

03.01.2022 "I tried to meditate once. I couldn't do it. It doesn't work for me." Does this sound familiar? Maybe first we should ask ourselves why we would bother to devote time in our already busy lives for something as seemingly inactive as meditation. ... There is a wealth of evidence to show that meditation can reduce anxiety, depression and chronic pain. * It can also improve memory, reduce stress, enhance feelings of happiness, joy and gratitude, enhance self awareness, improve attention span, improve metabolism, improve sleep and decrease blood pressure!** That's only a handful of the hundreds of benefits! Now let's get to the reasons why many people have tried and failed. We all have different learning styles. Some of us are highly visual, some of us learn by listening and some need to do or feel their way through something to learn. Meditation is no different. For someone who has a highly active mind and vivid imagination, being asked to sit in lotus position and simply "think of nothing" is more likely to trigger anxiety than help it! Zen meditation is a style that it suitable for every learning style. It is very simply, bringing your awareness into the present moment. Even a few minutes of Zen meditation practice per day can yield incredible results, as it switches your body from fight or flight response, where stress hormones rule, into rest and relaxation response. From this state, your body is able to replenish, heal and digest. From this state you can choose to act rather than react. These benefits don't just last for the duration that you're meditating, the benefits may be felt all week! Meditation is easy, when you have the right direction. It is free and can be done anywhere, anytime. Joley will be a fully qualified Meditation Teacher with the International Meditation Teachers Association in October this year. If you are interested in starting your journey to better health through meditation, please stay tuned on this page, and watch out for events happening soon at Moora Wellness Centre :) *https://jamanetwork.com//jamainternalm/fullarticle/1809754 ** https://www.healthline.com/nutri/12-benefits-of-meditation
