12.01.2022 EOFY is almost upon us and there are some things that need to be sorted before the end of the year. 1. PAYROLL If you are a small business and pay wages and are NOT registered for Single touch payroll, your amnesty is over - you must register before 1 July 2021. 2. SUPERANNUATION If you wish to claim ALL the superannuation paid for employees, for the whole of 2020/21 financial year - your super must be accepted by the super funds/ATO clearing house by 23 June 2021.... This means it will need to be paid at least a week before this date. Paid or accepted after this date, means you cannot claim the super in this financial year but if paid by 28 July 2021, it can be claimed in next financial year - after this date and there is no allowable deduction for the super paid. So process your payroll up to 30 June 2021 by 16 June, so you can calculate the super payable to up 30 June 2021. Pay this amount by 16 June, so it can be accepted by the fund before 23 June 2021. 3. If you are required to do a stocktake, please do this as close to 30 June as possible. More to come...

06.01.2022 Don’t get scammed people! It is NOT a legitimate invoice and should never be paid! This is not ASIC! ASIC is the ONLY entity that you should renew your business name registration with!... These businesses should be ashamed of themselves for tricking people into renewing a business name with them. All it does is add your business name to some directory somewhere and you will still have to pay ASIC when your business name is really due for renewal on the Australian Business Registry (ABR).
