13.01.2022 A message from our Commodore: Hi all, The competitions have to come to an end for this season as we have to get all the trophies in for the big night at the end... of the year. If you have any perpetual trophies at home on display could you please bring them down to the club as we will need to have them engraved for the Annual Dinner. I have also been asked by LVMR for updated information regarding members phone numbers. Please if you have changed your phone number vessel or any other information. LVMR where looking for a person that hadnt logged off only to find that he had changed his contact numbers. This could have been fatal. We recently had someone put an article in the last local courier about the changing of a VHF radio channel. This was for the Metropolitan Perth Area and had nothing to do with the Lancelin Area. 09.01.2022 Our first event for the season and we are so glad to be back! Dandaragan is such an amazingly talented community and the WILDFLOWERS are out! The weather looks to be fabulous for a Spring country drive!

09.01.2022 Well it's another year gone by without our famous windsurfing race. What started out as a few mates race to the local Tavern became over complicated and was in... the end was a victim of its over promotion. Many of us are sad that we have lost the excitement of that day with the starters gun in Ledge Point to the hard run to the Tavern to finish. In the end the idea of a mates race was lost as people with nothing to do with windsurfing tried to cash in and the event just got lost as the event became so wide and over complicated that it was no longer financially viable as it became at its core a marketing event and self promotional opportunities for those with no connection to windsurfing or kitesurfing whatsoever! No one was held accountable for its failure which is probably correct as it was the over complication that destroyed it that just got crept up in the event each year from too many events to changes in public liability and safety requirements. In the end the event was being run by people with absolutely no connection to windsurfing and maybe that was at least part of the problem as it moved away to becoming something other than a windsurfing marathon. Hopefully next year it can restart and go back to its simple roots of a wind surfing marathon from Ledge to Lancelin and the only change from the original is the addition of kitesurfing. What do you think ?
