23.01.2022 It's that time of year again folks, the annual MAD Australia day, Tuesday 26th Jan. So get yourself togged up in your best footy shorts, your going out flannie ...and head to Moorook for some Aussie fun and games. Starting at 11am, grab yourself a MDC social club presented lunch, warm up your thong throwing arm and strap in for a flamin' good time, you could even win yourself some awesome prizes. 22.01.2022 Huge shout out to the amazing team effort of Mel, Leroy and staff of M.A.D. bar & bistro and the incrediable volunteers of the Social Club for putting on another excellent Melbourne Cup Calcutta day! Incredible turn out of support from everyone there, 33 booked in for M.A.D.s beautiful 3 course lunch, sweeps all round and awesome effort on dressing up for the day. The best dressed competition resulted in Amanda Wachtel winning best dressed female and taking home the leg... of lamb and Leroy Vogt winning best dressed male collecting up the bottle of brandy. Chad Pantics infamous phantom race call resulted in Anna Eadie taking out the win. Congratulations to Rob Ebert for winning this weekends meat tray raffle. It has been noted that the day has resulted in the largest prize pool in Moorook & District Clubs history. Good luck to everyone who will be sitting on the edge of their seats Tuesday afternoon!! Special thank you to Wayne Piltz for his hilarious auctioneering, Anthony wachtel and Yvonne Drogemuller for assisting, Deb Willey for calling out the statistics, Janelle Boyle for being the officially photographer of the day and for all their help with organising the day at large Jeff, Mel, Leroy, Karen, Lee and Chad. The creativity on the grass and rose table displays must be noted too, Well done team! Thank you to Plaza meats and Lori Eastwood for donating prizes for the day. And finally thank you to everyone who showed up to support and make it another fantastic fundraiser for the Moorook and District Club! A special note that Janelle Boyles photos from the day will be available for purchase shortly with all proceeds going to MDC.

22.01.2022 Amazing work from this fitness duo! Thank you Jane and Jo for the impressive effort selling raffle tickets last night at the Moorook riverfront and M.A.D. Bar & Bistro, all while representing Moorook Megafit! These two wonderful volunteers managed to break all records on ticket sales of the current MDC meat tray raffle!!! Moorook & District Club will always be thankful for the support of local businesses in the area, so if you feel like helping us support our fellow... local businesses straight back and you need an extra push towards your fitness goals contact Jane at Moorook Megafit, she will certainly push you in the right direction. Half a wine barrel on wheels filled to the max with all kinds of goodies, wine, spirits, a cricket set, a tee ball set, life jackets, toys, stubbie holders, sun hats, Nippy's products, M.A.D. merch and much more! Come down and check it out in the front bar and buy up your tickets for a chance to win!! Tickets are $2 each or 3 for $5. Raffle will be drawn News Year's Eve. All proceeds go towards supporting the Moor...ook & District Club. 07.01.2022 Thank you Moorook and district for such an amazing turn out on Thursday night for the 59th Annual General Meeting of the Moorook & District Club. A rough head count guessed 75 community members in the room. With a 100 members currently on the books, An exciting election and new ideas already flowing for the future of the club. It truelly was a fantastic show of support by the community. We welcome Chad Pantic, Anthony Wachtel, Mike Mason, Rob Cordy and Anna Eadie to ...the board whilst welcoming back Toni Simons. We would like to take the time to acknowledge the hard work and years of service Chairman Greg Albrecht, Vice chairman Elton Ogle , Secretary Colleen Norton, board members Ben Will and Craig Battams have provided to the Moorook and District club. We hope to honour the history of the club and everyone who has poured their time, energy and hard work into it by fighting hard this year with renewed energy to keep this club open and running as a community owned asset. With out a doubt this is looking like it could be the Moorook and District Clubs toughest year. We will need every single community members ideas to pull off the survival of the club. If you would like to sit down and have a chat to pass on any ideas please reach out to a committee member. No idea is too small. We truelly do need all of them to put forward a survival plan for the club. We look forward to hearing all ideas, combining them and working hard to achieve the goal of ensuring the survival of the MDC for many years to come.
