11.01.2022 Holy Fools started this year like so many others, with optimism for the year ahead. Neal Taylor, CEO/Community Worker at Holy Fools, commented "Who would have predicted how our lives would change? It was with relief and thanks that we were offered and received a $5,000 grant from the Community Bank Mooroolbark to help with our continued outreach services - Street Angels, during the height of the restrictions in Melbourne. This funding has allowed us to continue operating, p...urchase new food take-away containers as well as new equipment to help make delivery easier." Neal goes on further "Whilst how we delivered our services changed, the provision of food and contact as well as referral services did not cease. We missed the ease of the face to face contact at our usual Street Angels, but being able to meet and talk briefly behind a mask or closed screen door, was better than nothing and in fact, was often the only contact with another person some of our clients had in their week." Our branch very much appreciates and thanks the many volunteers who come together to prepare meals, package and deliver to the many, many families and individuals, on and off the streets during the COVID stage 4 restrictions and ongoing. Neal acknowledges and thanks Community Bank Mooroolbark for their generosity towards Holy Fools support services as we start to ease out of restrictions and head towards Christmas.

01.01.2022 We are thrilled to be able to provide some assistance towards the wonderful community work provided by Holy Fools.

01.01.2022 Blanket Project Final Report!! We are ecstatic over the final results of our Blanket Project! With COVID-19 impacting all our lives our staff wanted to create a project that might generate involvement and interest within our branch community whilst having a worthwhile impact on a local not for profit organisation. With this in mind our blanket project came to fruition. Not knowing what level of support we would get our aim was to make 8 blankets. A local community group was ...identified as wanting the blankets and so the project was underway. To our amazement the project quickly grew legs and became far bigger than we ever anticipated. The volunteer support we received from our local community far exceeded our expectations. We aimed to create 8 blankets - we ended up with 30! We had staff and volunteers working hard on knitting, crocheting, sewing and placing printed ribbons on every blanket. The final blankets were quality made, looked a treat and very colourful. This project was made so much easier with the wonderful support of our customers, community members and of course our staff. We hoped to get about 10 volunteers but in the end over 50 people assisted in the activity. Unfortunately too many people to thank individually in this post we would just like to say a big thankyou to everyone involved. Given this fantastic result we have been able to extend the distribution to additional worthy organisations. Pictured collecting blankets we have we have George from @ [544435945573530:274:Lions Club of Croydon- Mooroolbark] Australia who collected 10 blankets for Mary Hill House run by Jim Fuller House. Also pictured is Richard from @ [278383465517487:274:Blue Cross Baradine] Aged Care who collected 15 blankets. Extra pictures are of residents of Blue Cross who upon seeing the colourful and warm blankets were very quick to try them out. Great outcome and again thank you all.
