25.01.2022 Crazy Hair Day, lots of fun!
24.01.2022 Dear families, Over the next term you will receive phone calls from teachers. Some of the teachers will be using their private mobile phones and may block their caller ID. These calls will always be between normal school hours and are usually just an opportunity to touch base and see how you are going with the at home learning, maybe to talk to students and to answer any questions you may have. Can you please ensure you answer these calls if possible. We are all to aware of... the calls that come from telemarketers from these types of numbers, but do ask that you answer. Teachers will just leave a message if you do not answer, however, a call back immediately may not always be possible. The school landline phone number has been diverted to Tina's mobile. She will answer these calls and then send an email/message to the relevant staff with any information they may need to get. Please be aware that this can take some time to do and to please be patient for staff to return contact. If you have received a call from a teacher and are returning their call, the message will be passed on, or alternatively, message the teacher in the UeducateUs app and they will work with you to answer any questions or set up a time for a phone conversation. If you call is of an urgent nature, please contact the school via the school mobile on 0427 253 856. Please contact the school if you have any further questions.
22.01.2022 Dear Families, This morning the Department of Education informed all Victorian Government Schools that to increase physical distancing across the population and slow the spread of COVID-19, children in Victorian government schools should move to remote and flexible learning and care at the commencement of Term 2. Here is the quote from the Victorian Government; "As we act to slow the spread of COVID-19, the message to students and parents of government schools is clear: all c...hildren who can learn at home must learn from home - with exceptions only in extremely limited circumstances. We know this year will be different to any that students, teachers and families have experienced before; but we are making sure that our kids still get the education they deserve." Importantly, it states, all students will be learning from home, except for students who are not able to be supervised at home and no other arrangements can be made. This is available for children of parents who cannot work from home and vulnerable children without access to a suitable learning environment at home. It is vital for our planning for next week that we are aware of anyone who may need to attend school. While teachers will be working from home, there will be minimal staff on site during this remote and flexible learning period. All students will be participating in learning that involves UeducateUs and utilising a mixture of online and offline learning tools. This is going to be a challenging period of learning for all involved. The staff have worked really hard to prepare for this situation. We are committed to ensuring learning continuity remains and want to thank you for your support during this difficult time. Please keep checking UeducateUs as we will continue to provide updates and further information. Please contact the school via the UeducateUs system, email ([email protected]) and attention to Hayden or Les, or on the school mobile on 0427253856 either via text or call, stating the names of any students who will need to attend school as soon as possible. Please remember this is only if no other alternative options are available. Thanks MPPS Leadership Team.
21.01.2022 More great meals from Tania. Great job Chef!
18.01.2022 Dear Parents and Carers Please be advised schools will be returning to Remote and Flexible Learning from Wednesday August 5th. Monday August 3rd will be a normal school day.... Tuesday August 4th will be a Pupil Free Day for teachers to prepare. Wednesday August 5th students will return to Remote and Flexible Learning. There will be more details released by the Department of Education over the next 24 hours, as soon as I have it I will let you know. There will be some students who are eligible to attend school for a supervision program, these details will be released soon. I am confident that Mooroopna Park Primary School will again be able to provide an effective Remote and Flexible learning program for students. This may take a bit longer than Wednesday, but we will do our very best. Please try to stay positive, calm and remind your children that everything will be alright. We are working hard to make sure that everything is right to go as quickly as possible. Hayden Beaton, Principal

11.01.2022 Dear Parents and Families, the new COVID-19 lockdown and school closures for term 3 DO NOT affect our school community. All students will resume school from Monday 13th July as normal. We will keep you informed if there are any further developments. A reminder that COVID-19 restrictions are still in place and parents are still not permitted to be on school grounds without making an appointment or permission from admin staff. Thank You for your continued co-operation.
10.01.2022 We are aware of the problems with uEducateUs, they have been contacted and are working on fixing this. It should be all good to go by Monday. Enjoy your weekend!
07.01.2022 Dear parents, Unfortunately our UEducateUs site looks like it will be down today. We have been having long discussions with the provider and everything should be right by Monday. In the meantime we have work packs available at school and students can continue working on Reading Eggs, Mathletics, Maths Online and Epic reading. If there are families that still need devices or even the internet please let us know. We are sorry for the inconvenience and look forward to a smooth start to week 2.

04.01.2022 Following advice from the Victorian Government on Tuesday 12 May, some students will be returning to school from Tuesday 26 May. The Victorian Chief Health Officer has advised that it is safe for students and teachers to return in a two-staged approach: Stage 1 from Tuesday 26 May: Early years students (Prep to Grade 2) and senior secondary students (Year 11 and 12) and all specialist school students will return to on-site schooling. All staff will attend on-site.... Stage 2 from Tuesday 9 June: Grade 3 to Year 10 students will return to on-site schooling, subject to health advice. It is important that we work together and support each other during this challenging time. We will be in touch with staff and parents shortly with more details. The Department’s latest advice on coronavirus can be found at www.education.vic.gov.au/coronavirus
