25.01.2022 Had a little #bikeerg #challenge today. My first ever attempt at a 4km time trial . Felt pretty good. Up until the last km and definitely the last 200m as seen above . Super fun though! @concept2au

24.01.2022 A lovely treat for breakfast or #dessert! Whisk egg and then whisk milk into egg and slowly add flour and keep whisking to avoid lumps. Heat a pan with some butter or oil and add a dollop, cook until top is no longer raw and then flip.... Toppings you can mix and match. Makes around 15-20 small #pancakes. See more

24.01.2022 Well well well! Where do I start!? This is a long post guys...not sorry! Julia has been training/rehabbing with me for 7 years, almost to the day! Today was her last regular session for now as her and her hubby have bought a new home up North , too much of a trek away. It won’t be the last we see of her but her presence sure will be missed!... I’ve had the pleasure of watching Julia blossom and grow into a beautiful butterfly ! I remember the day she walked into her assessment appointment with me, which her lovely mother attended too. A shy, reserved, unconfident 25year old who was looking to lose weight and gain some strength; endurance & confidence in her Right side, as she has Right sided Cerebral Palsy. Julia whole-heartedly put her trust in me and would always put 100% effort into anything I challenged her with. Even if she didn’t think she could do it. She never ceased to amaze me at how she attacked everything with determination; grit & a positive attitude! She would always put more work in at home on her own and reap the rewards! Her strength & endurance grew over the years & with this she gained her independence & confidence. She didn’t need to hang onto anyone for support with walking; she had the confidence and ability to move into her own unit and not be so dependent on others. Now, she can walk to the shops on her own and buy groceries; have the confidence to know if she needs to walk several kilometres with friends or family that she can do it. She’s gained a lot more use of her Right hand & arm and doesn’t feel like she has to guard it all the time. She has the knowledge to keep training herself at home and keep the gains she’s made. Hopefully we can throw a few zoom sessions in for good measure . Julia, I hope you and James are happy as ever in your new home and thank you for allowing me to be a part of your life! 24.01.2022 HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our client, Richard , who turned 69 today! Richard has been training with us for nearly 4 years! He trains once a week with us and does two other gym sessions on his own! He’s dedicated to his health and is also a keen diver and an author. I can highly recommend his books if you like a good crime/adventure/thriller type novel . 23.01.2022 Still going...So I thought Id take this opportunity to show the diversity in #pushups and try come up with 25 different ways to do pushups...hopefully by the end of this my push up strength will have vastly improved ! Day Seventeen we have the Spiderman Push-up. This is a great way to add more of an oblique (side abs) bias to the push-up. #Pushupchallenge Day 17. Thanks Raychelle for the nomination . 23.01.2022 Deb has been with us for 2 and a half years now and has consistently trained once a week! Shes put a solid effort into her #weightloss journey prior to seeing us and throughout. Deb has looked after her own diet requirements and has lost over 20kgs in the last 2-3years. Shes done this in a sustainable and realistic way in order to have long term gains and not just a quick fix that can easily be undone.... Weve shifted our focus to slightly favour more #muscle building and strength gains in order to influence her metabolism to stay higher. Shes been getting more and more muscle definition showing through over the past few months and I couldnt be more impressed with her dedication and attitude towards her goals! 21.01.2022 I had 30mins to spare in between clients today and wanted to do a quick workout. This took about 20mins max: The bulk of it was 5 pyramid sets of Back Squats working at about 55% of my 2 Rep Max (a light-moderate weight). empty barbell x10 reps... add 10kg x8reps add 5kg x6reps add 2.5kg x4reps add 2.5kg x2reps No rest in between sets other than loading the bar. Then finished on a little ab blast of fitball throws, dying bug style (making sure not to let the lower back arch at all).

Julia trains once or twice a week and has been with us for 6 years now . Julia originally came to me wanting to improve her fitness and improve strength on her right side as she has Cerebral Palsy. She took ownership of her goals and put in a lot of work on her own. Needless to say, theres not much she cant do these days .... 15.01.2022 Today we welcomed back Holly to our Saturday sessions! She’s our latest new Mama & rejoins Caz & Belinda (Belinda being our latest future Mama) in a trio sesh! All 3 ladies originally didn’t know each other before being paired up for training and it’s worked out so well how they’ve fitted into each other’s training times and how well they gel in a session! ... It takes a lot of planning to make sure each one of them is training to their potential and have enough space for each exercise. Each of their programs are individualised and adapted as needed. 14.01.2022 Here’s a little #fitball ab exercise with 3 variations of difficulty. They all have the same aim of not letting your lower back raise off the ground. Your #abs work to maintain control of your pelvis whilst the arms and legs are moving. Try the version that challenges you but you’re still able to avoid your lower back arching up .

12.01.2022 Tight calves or hamstrings? Do your feet cramp up? Have you had plantar fasciitis? Do you stand a lot for work? ... Here is a great drill to help relieve all of the above. You can use a tennis ball/lacrosse ball/spiky ball or golf ball. Just roll under your foot from heel to ball of foot for 1-2mins or longer if you like. Try do this a few times a day . See more

11.01.2022 So I tried to buy some #peanutbutter cookie #dogtreats this week and nobody seems to make them anymore. So I decided to do a little research and make my own . Needless to say the dogs loved them! These are actually gluten free and human friendly too! Maybe just add a little sugar or dust some icing sugar on top. ... Here is the recipe for anyone interested . Super easy to make! 2.5-3c oat flour (or just blend twice the amount of oats in a blender or NutriBullet). 1/4c peanut butter 2 eggs 2/3c mashed pumpkin Mix everything but the flour with a wooden spoon. Add flour slowly and then knead. Cut (choose a size that is relevant to your dog size) and place on baking tray with baking paper on it. Bake at 180c for 20-25mins until brown. Cool.

Treadmill 500m total: run 100m; walk 100m; run 100m; walk 100m; run 100m. Rest 3mins. Repeat. Try this at home if you have a treadmill or give it a go outside. 07.01.2022 HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our client, Gemma , who turned 37 today! Gemma has been training with us for 1yr and 4 months! She trains twice a week with her sister. She’s barely missed a session at all over that time and has massively improved on her fitness and strength! All our clients get a session for their birthday AND a raw chocolate ball !

07.01.2022 Slowly climbing my way back up the Back Squat ladder . It had been a while since Id done back #squats (like years) and have recently been working them again. The #movement felt quite foreign at first as Id only been doing kettlebell squats. But then it slowly started to feel more natural. Now Im keen to see how close I can get to my old 1RM .

06.01.2022 Weve been working on #rowing technique and pacing with Bethany over the past couple of sessions. Well improved already and some good numbers being hit . Looking forward to seeing more improvements .

05.01.2022 If #pullups or #chin-ups are something you’re working on, then make sure you’re doing them right . Start the movement with feet off the ground, either with legs straight and abs and glutes on (like a plank), or with knees bent behind you and glutes squeezed. Initiate the movement with pulling your shoulder blades down towards the floor.... Keep the shoulder blades down and keep pulling through by bending elbows. Finish the movement with your chin above the bar, shoulders down and chest open (no hunching of the upper body ). Slowly lower yourself back down and reset at the bottom for another rep, making sure you’re not cutting the movement short in the bottom position. Each rep should be identical . If you’re still trying to get your first pullup, work on the second half of the video. Try doing scap pull downs, work your way up to 10reps. Jump up to the top position and hold for 3-5seconds, slowly lower yourself down, ideally for a count of 3seconds. Practice every day! Hope this helps

He was hitting the 600’s for wattage output which is pretty impressive considering he’s only been training with us for 4 months . 20secs work/40secs rest x 5 rounds after a strength and rowing interval circuit. He’s been very dedicated to his health & fitness journey and puts in the necessary extras at home too!

05.01.2022 So I thought I’d take this opportunity to show the diversity in pushups and try come up with 25 different ways to do pushups... hopefully by the end of this my push up strength will have vastly improved ! Day One we have the basic push-up both on toes and on knees. Push up challenge Day 1, Thanks @Raychelle Archer for the nomination . Today I nominate Pierre Andre Goosen to do the 25 push-ups for 25 days challenge to hopefully raise awareness for PTSD (Post Traumatic Stres...s Disorder), anxiety and depression that drive people to commit suicide. The rules are simple: *Once you are nominated your 25 days starts the following day. *Everyday you record yourself doing 25 push-ups even if you have to drop to your knees to get 25 *Every day you must nominate a different person. Let's reach as many people as possible.Let's hope by doing this we can build awareness for anyone who is suffering from a mental illness, you are not alone and we are here for you. Don't be afraid to speak out!!!

04.01.2022 HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our client, Steph , who turned 28 today! Steph has been training with us for nearly 2 and a half years! She trains once or twice a week in the studio and several times on her own. She continues to improve her strength and is quickly catching up to my deadlift numbers with hitting a 85.5kg 1 rep max on Monday ! All our clients get a session for their birthday AND a raw chocolate ball !

03.01.2022 Well, not that long ago Steph broke into the 80’s on the #deadlift. Yesterday she smashed her goal and lifted 90.5kg!!! Now, we would have liked to have seen a slightly better position through her back, but it was not too bad at all & she’s very aware of keeping her back locked in. Onwards and upwards! 100’s next @stephiepenrose ?

He had initially wanted to get in better shape for his upcoming wedding but then Covid had other plans! Make sure you do them safely and effectively and only use a weight that still enables you to use good form.... Between 10 & 15reps each side will be optimal. See more
