24.01.2022 Lunch with a view

24.01.2022 Logan/Browns Plains we need your help! Check your switch board if you are not sure post a photo of it here and I will look at it for you! Message from the Electrical safety office. Logan/Browns Plains sparkies in particular should keep an eye out for Dielle YK78 Model Residual Current Device (RCD) recalled by the supplier due to a risk of electrical fire and electric shock. The RCDs were sold in the Logan/Browns Plains area from 2006 and can be identified by the brand nam...e Dielle, the model number YK78 and the invalid approval marking of N.21905 (see below). RCD model number and invalid approval marking The recall includes all rated models in the range 6A,10A,16A, 20A, 25A and 32A with these markings. The RCD may not comply with the product safety standard, and may not trip reliably under an earth fault condition. Marking N.21905 is not a valid Approval number. Building owners, managers and electrical contractors are urged to check switchboards or load centres for potentially affected RCDs. The recalled product needs to be replaced with an alternative RCD that has a valid approval mark. If you find a recalled RCD model installed in a customers premises, you should notify them about the recall and have them contact the supplier to arrange for a replacement RCD to be installed

18.01.2022 COVID-19 is rapidly changing the way we live and work every day, and telecommuting (working from home), is becoming the new reality for many of us. Home based offices are considered a workplace under work health and safety laws so its important for workers and employers to work together to identify and minimise work health and safety risks at home. You must consider the following to ensure your safety at home when using electrical equipment:... Check to see if you have a safety switch installed and that it is operational by pressing the test button before you initially start work from home and every three months thereafter Check out how to see if you have a safety switch at https://www.worksafe.qld.gov.au/safetys/safety-switch-films Carry out a visual inspection of all electrical equipment in your home office. Check for cuts, nicks or exposed conductors on any cords. Check equipment for visible damage (broken covers, overheating discolouration). Either discard any damaged equipment or have it repaired by an appropriately licensed electrical worker. Do not attempt to repair faulty equipment yourself. Ensure leads and power boards are placed where they will not get damaged by moving furniture, chairs, foot traffic or other activities. To avoid overheating and fire risks, dont place papers or other items against air vents of equipment or cover equipment such as power boards or power supplies. Dont cover or stack up equipment under charge (e.g. phones to laptops). Dont permit children to touch or play with electrical cords and make sure electrical cords are not dangling from benches or within your childs reach. Ensure power boards and outlets are not overloaded (e.g. dont plug in several room heaters into one power board) and are not placed where they may be splashed with liquids.

18.01.2022 Daylight harvesting systems use daylight to offset the amount of artificial lighting needed to maintain an area at a certain lux level. This is accomplished using a lighting control system that is able to dim the high bay in response to changing daylight availability. For the rest of January, we are offering one Daylight Harvesting Sensor with every high bay light, at no charge.

16.01.2022 You may have seen or read news mentioning lockdown over the last 24 hours. Ensuring that youre kept up to date with all updates regarding the spread of the Coronavirus, weve outlined the key points of the lockdown below and how it may affect our business. What does the lockdown mean? The lockdown announced by the Australian government may have created the wrong impression. The restrictions are designed to limit large congregations in public. They apply to businesses like pu...bs, bars, nightclubs, cinemas, gyms and places of worship. The lockdown does not affect the hiring of a tradie. It is still perfectly OK to proceed with any work you have scheduled and/or wish to schedule in the foreseeable future. We are still encouraging both tradies and customers to act with common sense and to take the necessary precautions to help stop the spread of Coronavirus whilst on site and when in contact with each other. Well continue to closely monitor the situation and bring relevant updates to you and homeowners across Australia

13.01.2022 Impacts of Coronavirus & Chinese New Year Our goal is to provide superior customer service and provide extra support to simplify your life. With this in mind, we wanted to let you know there is a possibility some of our suppliers (Australian and international) could be impacted by delays on goods coming from China due to the Coronavirus. At this stage Chinese New Year holidays have only been extended by one week but could be further extended. Most suppliers have already had t...heir orders shipped so currently have no issues with supply but there may be specific product lines impacted more than others, particularly special orders. Some factories will be closed longer than others, for example some lighting manufacturers could have delays of at least three weeks on made-to-order items but are well stocked for everyday items. Most cable suppliers are currently well stocked and the Australian manufacturers can increase supply if required See more

13.01.2022 I've created this page because I want to make a difference. I'm inspired by the work of Surf Life Saving as I regularly train along the beach and wanted to support them by raising money as part of my participation in Melbourne Marathon 2019. Please help me help them by giving whatever you can using the 'Give Now' button. Surf Life Saving play a vital role in our community, so please also spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family. Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot!
