07.01.2022 Acute angle-closure (closed-angle or narrow-angle) glaucoma produces symptoms such as eye pain, coloured rings around lights, dilated pupils, vision loss, red e...yes, nausea and vomiting. These signs may last for hours or until the intraocular pressure (IOP) is reduced. Acute angle-closure glaucoma is a medical emergency. Anyone who experiences these symptoms should contact an ophthalmologist immediately or go to a hospital emergency room. 50% of patients with an acute angle-closure attack have a history of previous intermittent attacks, e.g. episodes of blurring of vision lasting 1- 2 hours, associated with haloes around lights, eye ache or frontal headache.
