25.01.2022 *Covid 19 Coronavirus update* We are now moving to telehealth services wherever possible to limit our face to face contact. This transition will take place this week with the aim to be operating exclusively via telehealth from next week. These services will be available as a bulk billed service for all clients with a current Mental Health Care Plan, or funded by the NDIS, or funded by 3rd parties where applicable. Telehealth services will be conducted as phone consultatio...ns, or video consultations using Skype or Zoom. Our psychologists will contact the client at the time of the appointment using whichever service has been agreed upon. So please ensure we have your most up to date phone and email details. We understand this is not an ideal scenario, however it is important during this time to continue treatment, by whichever means we have available to us. Please be patient with us during this transition period. Thankyou. See more

23.01.2022 2020 has been a year of change for many people, and Morayfield Psychology Centre is no different. Sadly, as this year ends, we are saying 'Goodbye' to several of our treasured staff members as they move on to new adventures, and in some cases new states. We will miss seeing their friendly faces, and their expertise and professionalism, and we wish them all the very best for the future. We have also recently welcomed some new fantastic new staff members, and in 2021 are hoping... to welcome some more friendly faces to our team - we will introduce you to them soon. 2021 will also see an increase in our fees from January, to more closely align with the Australian Psychological Society schedule of fees. Medicare rebates will still be available to eligible clients with a Mental Health Care Plan from their GP. We would also like to remind our clients about the Medicare safety net. When your gap payments reach a certain threshold you will be paid a higher rebate from Medicare. For individuals (with no dependents) with a Medicare card, you are automatically registered with Medicare for the safety net. If you’re part of a family or couple, you can register as a family to combine your costs. This means you’re more likely to reach the thresholds sooner. You can find out how to register here: https://www.servicesaustralia.gov.au//individu/forms/ms016 For more information about the safety net please visit: https://www.servicesaustralia.gov.au///what-are-thresholds

14.01.2022 There are a few resources we would like to share, which may be useful to many: QLD Government has opened a Community Recovery Hotline PH: 1800 173 349, which will help coordinate non contact delivery of essential food and medications, and social and emotional support for those self isolating and in quarantine. This hotline is intended to help the most vulnerable Queenslanders in our community, and at this time is only available to those who have no other support mechanisms. Q...ueenslanders who require health advise whilst in isolation or quarantine should call 13 HEALTH (13 43 25) or visit www.health.qld.gov.au/coronavirus Beyond Blue has released a new Coronavirus Mental Health Service. The service will offer free counselling by mental health professionals for all people in Australia 24/7, both online and over the phone. The website is also providing advice and information regarding Coronavirus, and hints and tips to help manage your mental health during this time. https://www.beyondblue.org.au/ PH: 1300 22 4636 DV Connect has some tips for dealing with self isolation with a violent partner. The DV Connect 24 hour hotline PH: 1800 811 811 is also available, which provides crisis counselling, safety planning, and may be able to support DV victims with emergency transport and accommodation options if needed. http://www.dvconnect.org/

09.01.2022 Morayfield Psychology Centre has been following guidance from the Government and the local health authorities on COVID-19 to ensure we have the right plans and resources in place to safeguard your health and well-being. Here are some steps we are taking and steps we are asking of you to ensure we are all being proactive with safety. What we are doing: - Our daily cleaning procedures are already thorough at MPC; however, we are taking extra time to clean and disinfect so that ...our facility remains a safe and welcome space for clients, visitors and staff. Our dedicated staff is wiping down and disinfecting all desks, tables, handles, knobs etc on an hourly basis with extra vigilance. - We are using air purifiers as well increasing ventilation in our facility. - We are providing staff with disposable gloves and masks if they prefer to use those PPE items. - We are placing hand sanitiser around the centre and ask all clients and visitors to use hand sanitiser before entering the centre. - There are signs around our Centre to remind you of the safety measures for COVID-19. Please read them. - We are requiring clients to reschedule their appointment or utilise telehealth for consultations if not feeling well. - We have asked our team to use extra caution when evaluating their own personal health and will have staff go home if they are not feeling well. - We keep records of all people who have entered the premises including clients and visitors. Names and contact details are kept for 28 full days and then destroyed as appropriate. What we ask of you: - We ask if you are not feeling well, please stay home! We know how committed everyone is to therapy, however, we want to make sure everyone is healthy. - If you are over the age of 60, have a compromised immune system or are a member of a vulnerable population, we ask that you stay home. Please inform us via telephone 5495 6668 or email [email protected] if you are unable to attend your appointment. - Use the hand sanitiser we provide at the front door before entering the Centre. - Frequently wash your hands with soap and water for more than 20 seconds. -Please attend your session by yourself, or limit the amount of people that accompany you to your appointment. Please note that client confidentiality is maintained as per usual practice. However, in the event of a positive testing of COVID-19, confidentiality may need to be broken as clients and visitors details would need to be provided to relevant authorities in the interests of public safety.
08.01.2022 It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in the office
07.01.2022 Just a friendly reminder that our Centre will be closed over the Easter break from Friday to Monday. We will reopen to phone calls on Tuesday, but remain closed for face to face contact. Crisis numbers and services will remain open. Have a safe and happy Easter break!
06.01.2022 Good morning! From today we are transferring over to a new, more efficient software system at our centre. As with any any major change we may experience some 'teething problems' at the outset. Please be patient as we learn to navigate this new system, as we endeavour to provide a more streamline service for our clients. Thankyou. Have a great Monday.
05.01.2022 We apologise, but we have no phones or Internet working at the moment. We are trying to get this issue sorted as soon as possible. If you need to contact your psychologist urgently, please use the email you use for Zoom or Skype.
