24.01.2022 Mordilalloc CC would like to acknowledge the passing of a Mordialloc legend. Doug Denyer who has passed away at the age of 99. We thank you Doug, for your amazing contributions to our club and our juniors (both football and cricket) Our senior synthetic & juniors both play at the ground named in your honour. 24.01.2022 It was over a couple of years ago now that some idiot from Canberra decided that Mordialloc CCs Chathura Athukorala had to uproot his family & life & move to Tasmania basically in a big hurry. Chooka played for Mordialloc for 6 & 1/2 seasons & in that time The Little Champ had a massive impact at Mordy both on the field & off. Is was fitting that Chooka claimed his 200th Turf 1 wicket in his last game (Possibly) for Mordi in the Turf 1 GF where he got arguably the DDCA's grea...test player in Steve Spoljaric out. I had the pleasure of watching Chooka play basically every match for Mordi & there was days that he was unplayable & delivered some of the best spells of bowling I've witnessed. 23.01.2022 Yesterday marked the 20th anniversary of the tragic passing of a Mordialloc Legend Peter Hess . Hessy or "Monster" as he was affectionately know was both a life member of the Mordialloc Cricket & Football clubs having long distinguished careers with both, at the time of his passing he was an important part of the MCC committee. In the months after Hessy's passing the MCC committee at the time made the decision to name it's best clubman award the Peter Hess award, because that...'s what Hessy was,a great clubman. Off the field Hessy would just do whatever needing doing with no fuss or fanfare & on the field as a team mate he gave you everything he had in every match. .In my opinion the best clubman award at any club is the most prized award, it is not an award judged on skill or ability but in character, selflessness & humility in that the club is always bigger than the individual. I had the amazing honour being awarded the first Peter Hess award in 2000/01 & it was a truly humbling & precious experience to win an award named after my mate & is the greatest accolade I've received in my time at Mordialloc CC As the years roll on & the current members of the club that knew Hessy understadibly get smaller, his legacy lives on & everybody that has won Hessy's award in the years since have been richly deserved & I do make a point on presentation night to congratulate the winner & also give them abit of context to the award & an insight in to the man behind the award & to make sure his spirit lives on forever. At this stage we are unable to confirm start dates, training session or Coaches but what we would like to do is get an Expression of Interest of those who will be playing this season. That way we can star...t to work behind the scenes on arranging teams, coaches and training days. 11.01.2022 The mordialloc c.c committee, members past and present, supporters, friends and family. It gives me great pleasure to congratulate Toby Grayling on his return to the Mordialloc 1st XI on Saturday. Its been 4 years 9 months since Toby Grayling last played 1st cricket.Those who are unaware of what this young man has over come i will give you an insight. Toby had a serious motor bike accident in Bali 4 yrs 4 months to the day. At this point he was placed in an induced coma and ...things did not look great to say the least. He suffered a shattered L femur, L clavicle, fractured every single bone above his neck including his skull, suffered serious bleeding on the brain. From this point the fight was on to save his life but knowing Toby as well as I believe I do he was up for the fight, and that he was! 15 plus operations with some life threatening complications this young man never quit! 2 years rehab learning to walk again, being told he would never play sport again! Toby still suffers to this day almost 5 years on but you would have no idea! An absolute credit to himself and those who supported him through it gives me great pride to welcome Toby back into the Bloods 1st XI this week an achievement that you couldn't dream of. Go well Toby best of luck we are absolutely chomping at the bit to see you thrive in the red and white for years to come! Go bloods! Cheers Motty

Dennis Purdies memorial service is to be held at Ben Kavanagh Reserve, McDonald street, Mordialloc this Sunday the 17th January. ... The Campbell and Purdie families would like to extend an invitation to all those who knew Dennis to attend and celebrate the life of a true gentleman. The service will take place at 1pm with finger food and refreshments to be served shortly after and time to reminisce the great life Dennis lived and to celebrate the great memories he has left behind. On a slightly sour note we still need to adhere to the covid rules in place at the moment, so please ensure you check when you arrive at the club.
