25.01.2022 MASSIVE CONGRATS to Luke Coleman, who won the Open 9 ft division of the Alex Mal Clubs Winter Classic yesterday. Luke surfed very well and beat some very good surfers along the way. The waves varied from 2 ft average little right handers to absolutely pumping 3- 5 ft peaks ( on finals day ). He also came 5th in the Open 8ft division, so a very successful outing. I am sure there will be some great photos of finals day soon and I'll share them here soon... Luke rode his 9'1 B.O.B model ... thanks also to all who came to support him, Lukes friends and family and my crew , was a great fun few days and hope to do ti all again next year, also BIG thanks to the Mal club crew for running such a great event... and thanks Huey for the pumping waves on finals day... yewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.... mp

25.01.2022 Just a little reminder that unfortunately , I'll have to increase my prices a little as of 2021 , the costs of materials and glassing has gone up so after 4 years at this current price, its time for a small increase. Any orders already placed , or that are place ( deposits paid that means ) in 2020 will remain the current price of course... thanks again for your awesome support this year too... mp

25.01.2022 Was great to swap boards with Luke the other day and to feel the Fat-Bat twinny under my feet. Its one thing to shape/design these boards, but you can not beat feelings and always gaining MORE fine details and a deeper knowledge of my boards. I was watching Luke closely to see how the board was working for him and always considering any way I can improve things for his future boards too... mp photos by Andrew Carruthers...

24.01.2022 Love this hybrid fish shape, it would make an insane twinny with stabiliser ... it’s locked in my mind and I wanna make one soon.... mp

24.01.2022 An 8’8 longboard model I do called the Kruiser, it’s a simple , forgiving all rounder , it’s fun on the points, can be nose ridden , can be surfed off the tail, fun in the beaches , fun for the advanced or the beginner, nice rocker curves, forgiving rails, good width and I tweak the fin placements too... this one is a special birthday gift for Mert... Goin to get a sweet lemon resin tint plus a nice little splash of colour n pattern for good measure... will be a great board for Sunny Coast waves...

24.01.2022 scumbags have stolen this familys boards...please share around, and keep ya eyes open for them...

24.01.2022 Looks like so much fun, popping 80’s vibe colours and that nuggety but supremely functional shape of the Dung Beetle with the customized tail with flyer ,she just screams small wave funnnnnn... this one is for Ethan, twinny with stabilizer..., mp

24.01.2022 hey Twinzer crew, I know several of you love my twinzers and I do too... so I have a question , If I was able to get Twinzer fins but they were glass-ons ( not FCS ) would you still be keen to order a freshy, or you only want the FCS tabs ...??? ( looks like I can get Twinzer fins made easier, quicker and sooner if they are glass ons ) ... mp

23.01.2022 2 fresh sleds for Nic Doran, the guy rips and spends more time in the air than Jetstar... expect to see these launching soon on the beaches of the Sunny Coast... one is a sleek high perf 5’8 Space-Cadet model and the other is a custom 5’4 1/2 , really excited about the little one, think he’ll absolutely tear on it in the small stuff.... mp

22.01.2022 Fun morning seshhhhhh....

22.01.2022 got a nice message from Ryan , who I made a custom 6'2" Fat Beaver for ... It was for Sunny Coast waves, but he suddenly had to move to Melbourne, but these shapes are very user friendly and suit such a wide range of waves I was confident he'd still really enjoy the board down in Vicco... - Hey Mark finally had a chance to ride the board down here in Vic, I'm stoked, fast and loose on the lip even on the chunky waves jan Juc has to offer. You nailed it thanks again

22.01.2022 8’8 Kruiser model for Merts birthday, arranged by his girl... not a bad gift at all... bright lemon resin tint, blue band with some dotty art action... turned out pretty nice I think, colours are popping and clean looking, should be a great fun board for him....

14.01.2022 I encourage all surfers in particular to take not of this and be involved in sending in feedback about this in the coming weeks. I'll post a link so you can put... your feedback in. I've had a meeting about this last week and from the people I've spoken to - the best case scenario is to not dump more sand out the front of the Okinja Road stretch of beach as it quickly ends up in the Maroochy, but instead to dump the sand between the Bluffy and Mooloolaba so the sand naturally disperses along the stretch from the Bluff to Maroochy and takes longer to move north. This option will not only be fantastic for surfing along Alex but also more instrumental in dune protection. ****** Here is a snippet from Teagan's story in the SCD daily today. Just a mention I can't put the whole story here as I've been cautioned on it before - it is on a paywall guys & girls. Nothing I can do about that sorry. But I will post the link for feedback for you. ****** SCD Story - snippet.... The Sunshine Coast risks a $130 million damage bill and the loss of surf clubs, homes and parts of holiday parks if it fails to protect the coastline from rising sea levels. A new report has revealed the Sunshine Coast assets most at risk of erosion impacts and storm tide inundation between now and 2100. The draft Coastal Hazard Adaptation Strategy provides long-term initiatives to protect the region's foreshores and will be considered by Sunshine Coast Council on Monday. The report said Maroochydore, Mudjimba, Kawana and Marcoola surf clubs and parts of the Cotton Tree and Coolum Beach holiday parks were at risk of erosion impacts. The council has scheduled a special meeting on Monday where there will be a vote on if it should release the report for public feedback in November and December. Feedback received during the four-week period would help form the final strategy proposed for council consideration early next year. https://www.sunshinecoastdaily.com.au//130m-damag/4133380/ Councils Coastal strategy documents so you can get up to date with it all can be found on this website link - scroll down to agenda attachments on the page to view the 3 documents.. https://www.sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au//Meetings-Minutes-and You can view the council meeting about this live on You Tube Monday from 9am - we believe the community definitely needs to be part of this conversation as it not only affects dune protection, but also users of the ocean in particular surfers, along with infrastructure as well. https://www.sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au//Meeting-schedule-2020

12.01.2022 Customised Dung Beetle for Ethan, after some good chats we decided he needed a fast, high volume small wave catching machine in his quiver... this thing will paddle great and fly on even the softest little peelers... twinny with tail plug . It’s a 5’8 with flyer, and about 40 1/2 ltrs....

12.01.2022 Luke whipping the 5'7 Fat-Bat twinny over the top of the oncoming section, he surfs with a nice casual flow, but the twinny is allowing him to do really tight pivotty hooks and maintain good speed too... yewwwwwwwwwwwwwwww... Photos by Andrew Carruthers of course... mp

11.01.2022 Subtle tones and clean lines for Iain and his custom Fat Beaver... really love the end result of this one... this will tick a lot of boxes for him and once he gets used to it , I’m sure he’ll be ripping on this fun all rounder for Sunny Coast waves... mp

10.01.2022 MORE stoke from my customers... love being able to create boards for people and to help them enjoy their surfing more... this is a message from Iain who wasnt sure what he needed or wanted, he was enthusiasticly trying alot of different boards and just unsure of what he needed to progress and enjoy his surfing more, anyway, we made him a lovely 6'7" Fat-Beaver in the dimensions I thought best...- I also had a surf with him and saw his style and technique too, so that also hel...ped with some details ... - - Hey Mark, hope Xmas was good for you guys. Just a quickie to say how insanely perfect the board is! No idea how you did it from my brief. Coming in asking for a longboard but telling you I was a bit over longboards, after 2 months of trying them! So you build me a 6’7 Fat Beaver ! Feels like I had the mystery package after all! Anyway it’s been so much fun....I’ve been in the right part of the wave way more and changing to a thruster has been an eye opener! I hear people say that their new board is the ‘fastest board ever’ all the time now, but your Fat Beaver seems to go about it’s business without feeling like a rocket ship/bucking bronco to control. It is never behind the section and is so smooth and easy to control going from section to section. I seem to be in slow motion now and have time to work on my body/foot positions. You were right ...you’ve built me a board that I want to ride every session and that I will grab before anything else! Thanks heaps and keep up the amazing work in 2021! Happy New Year! Iain
