16.01.2022 We've concentrated on city trains but trains to Parramatta are now affected. When I worked at Parramatta, I could be there in 15 minutes with 1 stop at Strathfield.

13.01.2022 We may actually get more trains because now 1. the T2 expresses stop there, but they are a lot slower than the T1 expresses 2. they have also increased the T2 locals. 3. T1 Northern expresses have been increased on weekends and late nights. So, in raw numbers, Burwood may be better off. It is when they are needed most (at peak hour) that we have suffered. I'm ambivalent about it because I don't often travel in peak hour. But I used to, and know the quality of service has been cut.

09.01.2022 Transport for NSW / Sydney Trains has released a proposed new draft timetable to go into effect in November. This makes very many radical changes for people in the inner west. There are very many negative impacts of the proposed new timetable on people using Burwood station: no express trains on the T1 (Western and Northern) line to / from the city in peak hour... the semi-express trains on the T2 (South) line will provide a slower journey than people currently get, as they stop at Ashfield and Newtown, and are also sharing a line with slow all stops trains currently between 7:30 and 8:30 in the morning there are 8 express services from Burwood to Town Hall / Wynyard in the existing timetable....there will only be 5 in the new timetable. 35 years ago there were probably 15! Ah, the price of progress. many people will now have to use the slower local / all stations T2 service in peak hours these local / all stations trains will now come from places like Parramatta or Leppington, and will likely be filled with people, unlike the current local / all stations trains which come from Homebush and have plenty of seats at stops like Burwood, Croydon and Ashfield. no direct services to / from North Sydney, St Leonards or Chatswood in peak hours no direct services to / from Parramatta on weekends no direct services to / from places west of Parramatta at any time Burwood is the place with the 8th largest daylight population in Sydney, and the 17th busiest station on the Sydney Trains network. Let's also consider the inconvenience to people going TO Burwood. All those minutes of having to change trains add up. Hundreds of bus services stop there every day. Overdevelopment is putting pressure on Burwood's infrastructure. Now is the time to be improving services, not reducing the quantity or quality of them. I've asked Jodi McKay, Member for Strathfield, to make representations to the Minister, Andrew Constance, Sydney Trains and TfNSW to ameliorate concerns that an inadequate service is being provided to the people using Burwood Station, and urge that extra services should be provided in the new timetable to enhance the traveling experience of Burwood passengers. You can see the timetable at the following link: https://www.transport.nsw.gov.au//draft-operator-timetable Don't say you weren't warned!

08.01.2022 Andrew Constance dodges the question about why services are being cut to stations which have traditionally got a T1 service.

05.01.2022 Many Burwood people are forced onto the all stops trains because of lack of space or seats on the express trains (I am one of them). That means less space for the people in Stanmore and Newtown etc. http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au//957564795071be30ba480486

02.01.2022 A new community group Burwood-Croydon NSW has been formed on Facebook. Go there now and start to build something to bring the local community together. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1968860910023345/?source=create_flow
